Q: What "lattices" do we need?

quidThe tag lattices is a problem since a long time. Over the years there were varied discussions about this, but no clear resolution emerged, though some things were done to better the situation. This is an attempt at a fresh start of the discussion to find a long-term solution. The current situa...

@quid Do you think that adding to the feeds for this room could be useful? It is one of the predominant topic of this room.
In the tagging chatroom at MSE I have added feeds for (tagging), (tag-wikis) and (tag-management).

@MartinSleziak good idea. Could you remind me how to do this? I manged to do it once, but I am now at a loss. I see where to paste the url but do I take the page of the tag or the one I get when clicking at the bottom or still something else.

@quid I think that you take the link to the rss feed, in this case meta.mathoverflow.net/feeds/tag/tags
The rss feed is shown on many SE/MO pages near the bottom of the page.

quid has made a change to the feeds posted into this room

@MartinSleziak thanks, I took this link though I could not find it anywhere.

The link I provided is at the bottom of this page: meta.mathoverflow.net/questions/tagged/tags?sort=active
Your links is at the bottom of this page: meta.mathoverflow.net/questions/tagged/tags?sort=newest
So simply changing the ordering between newest and active also changes the url of the feed.

katzI would like to get some reactions to the idea of merging several tags under an umbrella "infinitesimal". The motivation is that the individual tags each have few questions, and the existence of separate tags makes it more difficult for a user to become aware of other related questions. The tag...

Q: Can some higher power merge the enumeration and enumerative-combinatorics tags?

Tony HuynhI tried to do this myself, but I do not have sufficient privileges to do so. It seems like I cannot even suggest one as a synonym of the other. As a side question, is having an approved synonym the same thing as merging?

Q: Tag for errata of books

ShamisenNavigating MO, it is possible to view two kinds of questions regarding errors within a book. The first kind are community-wiki questions which answers are a collaborative listing of found errors in a book (e.g.: Errata to Principles of Algebraic Geometry, Errata for Atiyah-Macdonald, Erratum for ...

thanks @MartinSleziak I am not sure what if any the reason for those quite different urls is. Anyway it seems we have a working feed now.

Well, maybe one of them returns the newest questions and the other one recently active questions?
