It seems that there are SEDE queries which could help to compile such a list, as this Google search suggests.
My take on importance of tag-wikis: They are important for tags, where the usage is not clear. For example, even without reading a tag wiki, probably any user would see that the post is about algebraic topology and would use the tag for this area.
But if some guidance is needed when using a tag, it is better to be placed in the tag-excerpt, so that at least some users notice it. (Such as the examples of deprecated tag shown above.)
For example if there are other tags which could be easily confused.
Example from MSE (since I am much more familiar with the tags here). It was agreed that (differential-equations) will be used only for odes and pdes will have a separated tag. But this is definitely not clear just from the name of that tag. So this information is displayed in the tag-excerpt.
There are also a few comment templates, which can be used for incorrectly tagged questions. (And the list there also can serve as a list of tags which are frequently used incorrectly.)

I agree the main thing are the excerpts. It could make sense to point people to specific tags; though just flipping through the list of tags by popular could lead to the infor quickly too. But psychologically it could be better to have a short list in the meta post.
