The related Adler resources is 1) an essay I just found on the net: How to Mark a Book,

2) his book The Paideia Proposal: An Educational Manifesto which BTW is required reading for a friend of mine pursuing PhD in Education, helping to sketch out this telos I was referring to (one chapter/summary can be found here).

What's with the chat reply-to message thingie? Why can't it link your reply to the message you clicked on as it used to do for the last 15 years? I sure as shit don't need to be told what message I'm replying to. I already know that.

@HippoSawrUs Every day I look in the mirror and tell myself "You're better than everyone." It works great for me, maybe not for the people I interact with.

Is that Jesus in the chatroom? Just checking. I can't tell without the sandals.

Is the US going through a transition like the Roman Republic to the Empire, like where the Roman Senate is scared of the ruler and just lets hime do anything? Or is Trump being illiberal and the rule of law is just slow and ineffective but in the end things won't fall apart?

The article I linked above (which, BTW, it's quite revealing and well-written as to what women really want with man, not from man) also introduced me to a few concepts in addition to those 2 words (invented by Asa Seresin):

> A door blows open in your mind when you learn about the suffix -le, it explains so much. People used to add it to verbs to mean ‘more than once’ or continuously—so originally, to ramble is to ‘roam’ on, to jostle is to joust repeatedly, and to sparkle is to emit lots of sparks. x.com/wylfcen/status/1945991757163839805

Another accidental similarity is that name of Smaug (officially from Germanic verb) happens to be slightly similar to Slavic word for "dragon" (e.g. Russian смок (smok), Polish smok).

@TwineeeTheZeldaWizard I think CowperKettle and tchrist meant KJV's rendition of Matt 5:14-16 wishing you (already possessing the "light of this room" in your soul) to proclaim this light to the world, not keeping it to yourself (like hiding a candle "under a bushel"). Thus, even though you're unsubscribing, spread the word for others to come.

"Sporadically" derives from the sporran (/ˈspɒrən/; Scottish Gaelic for 'purse'), a traditional part of male Scottish Highland dress, is a pouch that functions as a pocket for the kilt.

drey – a squirrel's nest, ball-shaped, high up in a tree (vs. the exact same thing in your shed, which would be a den?). It's compicated…for a ball.

@CowperKettle Usually one would say "bogey on your six" (meaning six o'clock; in other words, right behind you). Which is where bike radar scans for bogeys.
