@Secret Is magic really a subdomain of physics, or is it better a subdomain of biology? We don't usually see magic being produced from machines. If it were, then it would be called technology rather than magic. More often magic comes from people. It comes from a wave of a hand or a spoken word, and these biological systems somehow produce these amazing effects. Any biologist would love a chance to study how that happens.

The Law of Sympathy states that like affects like. Considering how broad this is, it's the same principle for using gold for sun spells because they're both shiny and using magnesium for light-based spells because OH GOD MY EYEEEES!
