Think of it this way - if JohnB, Yisela, or Vincent wanted their diamonds back. They could instantly and without election just by asking. Giving up the diamond is really just a long sabbatical in the eyes of SE. So running has a lot of upside with very little downside risk.

@WELZ no we really aren't. Literally every meta question that's been asked about it has ended with the same outcome: Downvote, don't Close Vote if you think the question lacks effort. The issue is people still Close Voting anyways
I would sort of like to have more questions in the education tag here, but as I see it, most of the kind of questions I would ask would probably get closed as opinion-based or too broad or some sort of similar issue.
Which is a huge change from years ago, I was looking at a question Alan gave a great answer to, something along the lines of How does one learn to be creative
Even if it's not likely that someone who is struggling hard with English will become an active user overnight, I think it gives a more welcoming vibe to the community that can benefit us in the long term.
I think we need to be careful with VLQ flags. If it's a new user and it's something like bad spelling or formatting, I think it's worth taking two seconds to educate them
