Are there many parts of the world where it is not considered rude (if not forbidden) to bring your own food or drink to a restaurant, absent special circumstances such as wine with a corkage fee?

@ZachLipton Not sure if it is considered rude but I usually bring a bottled drink in a local restaurant in China, and found some locals did the same. No one seems to care about it, in my experience.

@Blaszard it's acceptable in China, at least traditionally. People even bring their own tea and have it brewed in the tea house for a small fee.
