There are far better ways for a 10 year old to spend their free time, than playing GTA V.

Nobody's saying that exposure to violent media guarantees a life of violent behavior as a grownup. But "I played this and I turned out fine" seems the Parenting.SE equivalent of "I ate a hamburger that had been left in the trunk of my car for a week and I didn't die" on Seasoned Advice.
