But advocating for better handling of Catholic question scope is different than advocating brute force and utter disregard for other issues on the same questions. Which is how you've been coming across so if you're serious about not wanting to be the brawler you might want to step back and re-consider your approach.
I guess maybe it's about venue too. If this chat room is equivalent to an open floor discussion where you can ask candidates questions and chat with voters from multiple parties about the office in question, I wouldn't want to be greeted to that kind of venue in real life with somebody picketing at the door with a sign showing me which boxes to check on the ballot.
I personally don't like the candidate score that much because half of it can be made up simply by accruing 20K rep. I've done enough SE to know that rep is hardly a measure of understanding the side or propensity to be a good moderator.
@PeterTurner What you're not accounting for here is that the current mods may also have had the same opinions as you at the time, as well as the community at large. But views changed as the community tested what did and didn't work. There was (and is) a long period of trial and error, and I'm concerned that you don't seem aware of why site policies evolved, but only that they did, and seem to think that the site's evolution has only been for the worse.
I agree with you @fredsbend meta history is probably the single best way to judge a candidate, but flag history also show you their interest in janitorial work and ability to judge the state of a situation and what needs intervention.
