Thanks to everybody who stood for election, knowing that only ten could go on. We have a wealth of strong candidates, more than the ten on the ballot. You all make this community strong.

@bilbo_pingouin I'm probably less awful than people think.

@MonicaCellio My sock drawer would be a good setting. Unexplored regions, mysterious things going on, and a rich biology.

@Zizouz212 I think gettting 20 rep is easier than really choosing the vote...

@overactor please stop saying that I don't have that many downvote ;-)

OK, so high point of my moderation career? Moderating a Russian chat. I don't even speak Russian.

I'll give you the same advice I gave to a couple of the other candidates with low Candidate Scores...don't be disappointed by the results this time around - look on it as a learning experience and the problems you face now can be gone by the time of the next election

This page, linked from the election page, is also pretty useful.

Q: What are the current goals of each of the election phases?

Jason CI have been watching the current election on SO extremely closely, and am participating in it as well. I have a number of thoughts and I am not sure if they are valid. I know others have had thoughts about various aspects of this election as well. To that end I think it's important to lay out som...

Oh, just a general reminder to all: Feel free to comment on the nominations, adding positive or negative remarks. If there are any issues you want to get out in the open, this is a great opportunity to do so.

[as HDE] "In my first act as elected moderator I will... resign. Because thanks, all, but I didn't expect it." (he he he)
Feb 16, 2016 23:35
I think @bowlturner was a casualty of the 3 vote limit. Considering he came 4th in the primary but serban had nearly twice as many votes in the actual election.
Feb 16, 2016 15:39
@Undo try not to be dead. That would make a lot of people unhappy, and I don't think ctrl-z works for that.
Feb 12, 2016 14:56
Well...I'm being careful not to make any assumptions. We may have a 50% vote bump in the primaries but that doesn't mean we'll get the same in the election proper. Especially if people think we're in for sure and don't vote for us
Feb 11, 2016 21:41
what I'm saying is that people should vote for me :)
Feb 11, 2016 15:43
For a second there I thought I'd landed in the SO chat
Feb 11, 2016 10:57
that's an interesting question... can a candidate vote for themselves in the main election?
Feb 10, 2016 20:32
It's a star free-for-all in general chat. Click the star at the end of this message to see what's happening!

Crap, I'm looking for the Fjords section... But don't think I'm just a fanboy, I liked them before it was cool.
Feb 10, 2016 13:40
Gee, @bilbo_pingouin doesn't have very many upvotes so far, does he?

Someone should write a blog post on the election :)

I'm a mod not a politician, have mercy on me
Feb 3, 2016 19:48
Damnit why is everyone so well-behaved around here? I can't find any mud to sling.
Feb 2, 2016 21:50
Indeed. SFF's election has had enough drama to last the rest of the network several years, I'm sure we can manage without :)
Feb 2, 2016 08:21
Yep. I'd rather lose to a strong field than walk in because of a weak field...if that makes any sense?
Feb 1, 2016 22:24
@HDE226868 Ah, no, I'm saying people shouldn't judge based on one number. Clearly, if you've got lots of them in your nomination, you'd be an excellent mod.

runs for Meta

@MonicaCellio lol, there is a joke in there somewhere but the moderator election chat room is probably not the appropriate venue.
