@naruto ほとんどの参加をやめたユーザは、嫌な雰囲気と他のユーザとの対立を理由として挙げています。その嫌な雰囲気を改善するには、サイトの参加者みんながもっと友好的な環境を‌​作ることに取り組まないといけないと思いますが、それだけではないと思います。すでに悪化した関係や苛立ったユーザがいる場合には、直接仲裁するのが必要なため、そのユーザ‌​の感情、言動、思考を理解できるモデレータが要ると思います。今のモデレータさんたちはそごくうまく取り扱っているにもかかわらず、そのユーザが日本人だったり、対立の言語‌​が日本語だったりの場合、相当難しいでしょう。それゆえに、日本語や日本の文化がわかる、日本人のモデレータがいたらいいなぁとみんな思っていると思います。

If we want more native candidates, I think it's a good tactic to actively prod specific people in this chat room (as you are doing right now!), so they feel justified in running.

@Will There already is a pop-up note every time someone casts a downvote encouraging them to leave a comment. If they ignore that, I'm not sure there's much more a moderator can do.
