In fact, that removal demonstrates precisely one of the traits that led me to comment there: you unilaterally decided to remove a post based on an assessment that it wasn't useful to the community, when in fact I (and I believe others would agree) think the opposite.

But overall, I feel like one of the principles of StackExchange is voting for the best answer right? If you feel my answer is not good or should be changed/improved, there are mechanisms for this on the site. You also can propose your own answers and ideally the best answer floats to the top

@Tim I wasn't aware of an existing code of conduct. The one we have on the website is the one we refer to from all of our communities, whether that's reddit or Google+ or anywhere. It's a pretty general code of conduct and includes things like "be respectful" and "don't troll". If there's places you think we can improve the Code of Conduct, I'm definitely open to discussing those.

I know this is a different site to Ask Ubuntu, but it doesn't get around the fact that link only answers are discouraged - as you say, you wan't people to be here for as little as possible, and redirecting them to your site is simply adding another step in the list of "What I need to do".
