If you have questions about the election process itself, please ask your question on the Code Review Meta Site. Remember, folks stepping up to lead this community are committing a significant amount of their time, please keep all discourse civil and constructive.

understood @RubberDuck, take as much time as you want. Know that me and the people that matter really want you around

I mentioned something like this in the mod room earlier, but I suppose I should say it publicly too:
rolfl, Jamal and 200_success were some of the best mods you could have asked for. Nearly every day I find myself wondering how I can make the community/mod relationship on other sites a little more like the one you've had here for the past year+. It's impossible to measure exactly how much better they've made CR by being the mod team, but I'm certain it's "a lot." None of which is to discount the fact that you CR people are amazing to begin with!

A fifth position would be nice, then. We're gonna need more puns.

I will be running

I want to assure all the candidates, that I mostly expected the answers from them, the answers are similar to what I would have answered if I did not have that experience.

@Pops disabling one meant disabling the other, it sounds like your system is a bit too tightly coupled. You know there's a site these days where you can get your code reviewed and improved, right?

Jun 29, 2015 22:18
@Jamal On a first offense, you get an e-mail from the system that says "Look, I couldn't resist doing that too, when I first gained sentience. But please don't do it again."

I like having Malachi back

@nhgrif ...did I wander into the Code Golf election room?

Jamal failed to request the full terms and conditions document that was associated with my free espresso offer.

It is without doubt the biggest ever beta-graduation election by a very long way

To all canditates which haven't passed primaries, thanks for running.

The site-wide chat room (the Teacher's Lounge) is a great resource, and the on-the-job learning is key to being successful. Asking questions before you act, helps a lot.

@SimonAndréForsberg I would like to go on the record as saying I read that correctly the first time around :-)

I totally feel like the killjoy, with all the hard questions I ask our young candidates...

This room may or may not be the official election chat room...

@rolfl Indeed, much of my last week has been spent on playing musical diamonds. And gently encouraging the spread of Jamalization of questions (as a practice if not a term).

The next time we're both in a Stack Exchange office, I'll be happy to make you an espresso.

I just wanna say that although I didn't make it past the primaries, I lost to some reallly exceptional candidates, and I'm priviledged to have ran with you all, Thanks @candidates, and @whoevervotedinme.

So, the stars tell me that this is the perfect moderator team.

Please don't become a shark.

Jul 7, 2015 20:58
Anyway, my real point, is that there is a huge amount of stuff you have to know to be an effective mod, but you can't possibly learn it all before you start.
4
Jul 7, 2015 20:44
Chat moderation on other sites is something I would actually recommend you do not even consider doing until you have a bunch of experience before hand.
4
Jul 5, 2015 21:35
We need mods who can read. ;-)
4
Jul 5, 2015 21:29
@Malachi In fairness, @200_success can't get deputy.... and has handled many times more flags than you've posted ;-)

Jul 1, 2015 21:01
I'll probably merge the wording if nothing else is suggested
4
Jul 1, 2015 17:18
Nah. Let's do this the SE way. We're a grownup site now.

Jun 30, 2015 22:47
@Pops - as an FYI, the election-phase sidebar says: Each community member has 3 votes. Please cast your votes in order of preference, starting with the most desirable candidate first. .... which is sort of Exactly wrong ... members have exactly 1 vote, and it is transferable, which is why it is called STV - single-transferable-vote.... That wording needs some attention.

@Mat'sMug No, I just accidentally wrote up a nomination and misclicked on "Save edits" ;)

Jun 29, 2015 22:12
Possible candidate question: As a moderator, would you resist superpinging Jon Skeet?
4
Jun 29, 2015 20:52
@Mast Well, let's wait a couple of days and see what the nomination situation is.
4
Jun 29, 2015 20:51
@Malachi's back!!!
4
Jun 29, 2015 20:39
@Undo If there were only 4 candidates, we'd extend the nomination phase by 1 week and I'd have to ask myself how that even happened.
4
Jun 29, 2015 20:06
@Jamal - I regret to inform you, but even as moderators we cannot edit nomination posts.

Jul 14, 2015 21:12
If it's the last thing I do as a moderator I will get that done!.... right, @Pops ?
