Guys, what precautions do you take when going to trails that are not really demarked routes? Should I wear a snake gaiter if the grass is knee high or is it an overkill? Maybe use a stick to check the grass first?

Lucky you ... I once filmed a small lake where we were bathing. We were naked and that's why I took care to capture nobody below the belt.
However, as I turned around I saw my friend stealing my clothes and I decided to chase after him. The GoPro was attached to a stick. The sudden running loosened the thread a little bit so that the camera felt upside down and turned 180°. Guess what the viewer was looking at for the next minute? :D
