My mate Dave has a heavily customised Ford Transit. He keeps a couple of kayaks, kite-surfing kit, wetsuits and drysuits and a matterss in it so he can head off anywhere at any time. It's very practical

@BjarkeFreund-Hansen yeah, that makes sense. Desolate is normally used in the context of something unpleasant. Like the "area had been bombed leaving it desolate". It's a little subtle.

it isn't about love, it's about competitiveness and the fact two different weight kayaks would damage our car long term because we have a pressure tension based roof rack.

That's just speculation of course based on the fact that we have a site eval going on and there's enough high-rep and active users. It could be another year, who knows. Stack Exchange staff work in mysterious ways.

No, it doesn't really work that way. There are only a few minimum requirements that must be met before a site qualifies to graduate:
Must be in beta at least 90 days.
At least 10 users with 2,000+ reputation

I took a day off. Spent the whole day in my sleeping bag.. Cellphone battery was dead since morning, didn't bother to get up and plug it in for charging.
