I.e., `f` is an equally spaced sample of the function x^2 from 0 to 1.
Now I want to find the integral of this "function" using the trapezoid method.
Is there any function that helps you doing it?

How's your experience with the W Paclet Repository folks?

I just noticed that in the Wolfram Function Repository website you can now click a start for functions you like. Better late than never. This is a nice change!

Hello, everyone. Several people have mentioned that they would like a heads-up for when Stephen has livestreams scheduled. Well, there is one scheduled for 12:00 CST today that will be a Panel Language (WebItem) development discussion.

Hey guys...have you check out Stephen Wolfram's recent blog about Games and Puzzles as Multicomputational Systems? If so, I'd like to hear any feedback that you might have. You all know I work for the company and appreciate your tolerance of me posting such stuff here! Let me know if you think I should connect with any other platforms to share this article: writings.stephenwolfram.com/2022/06/…

I just noticed that we can now "star" resource functions, I guess this is a fairly recent feature?

I'd like to announce some shameless self promotion: There is a new FEMAddOns paclet which, has some FEM additions. It includes functionality for ElementMesh smoothing, DistMesh is part of it and it has a domain decomposition solver (!) for stationary PDES. I hope these are useful to the community and perhaps the paclet can serve as a base for community have contributions.

I have seen a user respond, "Can't you just paste it into Mma and have it typeset?" They seem not to care that when I see a mess, I usually don't want to get involved.

@RonaldMonson Sadly, you are squarely voicing my thoughts regarding a possible obituary given Mr.Wizard's appearance as an "energetic retiree". There are a couple of precursors in this regard: David B. Wagner, Dr. belisarius, ...
While it reminds us all of our mortality, it might also remind us to set up something like a legacy notice if the unavoidable event happens. It would be nice to know for sure and some form of remembrance in a community like ours might be a thing to consider?

If a package is too hard for students to install, that's Mathematica's own fault for not having a pip install or install.packages() equivalent.

@bmf Thanks. I hope it is useful. I wanted to find out how V 13 DSolve compares to current Maple. I was surprised Mathematica now scores almost same as Maple's dsolve which is known to be the best ode symbolic solver in the industry for long time. Maple's still produces lower leaf size and is faster though. But in terms of just solving the ode, I think now one can say that Mathematica DSolve is equal to Maple's. I spend over 2 years adding these ODE's by hand into the database.

Actually I'm a bit surprised they don't hide away the actual API cost behind Wolfram AICredits™ or something weird like that.

I think Wolfram community web site has fragmented the Mathematica community. I see many ask questions there and we do not know about them here and many ask questions here and they do not know about them. I do not see this being good for communication about Mathematica overall. Better to have everything in one place. Just my 2 cents.

From reading all the above recent Wolfram blogs, I have a feeling that we all will be typing lots and lots of commands that start with LLM in V 13.3. I am looking forward for trying LLMDSolve and LLMIntegrate commands :)

Prompts are how one channels an LLM to do something. LLMs in a sense always have lots of “latent capability” (e.g. from their training on billions of webpages). But prompts—in a way that’s still scientifically mysterious—are what let one “engineer” what part of that capability to bring out.
