I think we should automatically shove everything into the close vote queue and only if it comes out with enough countervotes it gets on the front page

Hmm... I'd almost rather try to get something working with a built in counter/compare module...

On bad days I realize that my career has been successive iterations of blinky. Get blinky working with a 555, use a micro, do it over I2C, blinky control with an RTOS, blinky on its own pThread, blinky via TCP, blinky wifi, blinky Bluetooth, blinky RFID.

Stupidity can't be fixed with duct tape, but at least it can muffle the sound...

The basic goal of any EE is to find someone who will pay you to do what you would already be doing for free!

So tell me @coding_corgi, what is it like if even you imaginary friends refuse to play with you? :-p

I guess @coding_corgi is faster at "copy & paste" than I am at typing "don't try that commmand"

@AnindoGhosh The world always needs more strangeness.

@angelatlarge The solution is simple.... Don't star everything under the sun, and you won't have a starred comment issue.

Abuse of SPI tradition is a sport. I've worked with a fellow who had a silver medal in abuse of SPI tradition. Analog Devices has a gold medal in abuse of SPI tradition. This sport can be played by a team too.

@NikeDattani yeah that is a whole lot of mis-communication there. I'm sure @VoltageSpike got the wrong idea also. We spend so much time honing critical-thinking skills, that sometimes our critical-listening skills fail us.

but distributed energy resources, primarily solar, are not going away, and energy storage is going to be a Big Deal for the future, both at domestic and at utility scales

@ShashankVM RF engineering is pretty much always in demand, for one -- power electronics is another big growth market right now, with the grid being in a state of transition from a very centralized, top-down model to something much more decentralized
Mar 28, 2021 14:08
@ShashankVM focus on analog
Mar 28, 2021 13:47
so we'll still need hardware folks to glue that analog world to our digital devices, so to speak
