So guys, I'd like your input on this: I made a private Rubberduck3 repo and started it from scratch, starting with the Rubberduck.Main entry point (IDTExtensility2) and all it does is it initializes a CommandBar menu (with just 2 items: "Rubberduck Editor" and "About") and spawns a dockable toolwindow that contains an AvalonEdit control

In other news, I just got the esteemed "popular question" badge. Apparently, over 1,000 people have viewed my question. Despite that traffic, the question and answer both sit at zero. I honestly feel a bit offended even though I shouldn't take it personally. The internet is a fickle mistress.

Side note: Before Thanksgiving, my youngest (who is studying CS) shared a story on FB about rubberducking. When he got home, I handed him my RD.VBA t-shirt. The light bulb went from 0 to 100000 watts in milliseconds. #SwagFTW

@FreeMan There's this simulator called Rubberduck. The reviews I've read about are really positive for it. Tons of achievements you can unlock, and a thriving community. Best part is it's not pay-to-win and you can progress at your own rate.

And Rubberduck saves the day.

This morning Word has been very truculent, refusing to play ball when adding or changing references in the VBIde. I had to rebuild some .dotm template files from older backups (only a few days ago) When asked, Rubberduck pointed to a function in the Layout Template for which 'NO VALUE WAS RETURNED". The missing return was non obvious and as it was buried in a library I would have taken some time to find the issue manually.
