@MartinSleziak Yes, I wanted to keep this room around, and wanted to contribute and form study group, but I am myself not getting much time much this is why not able to discuss and get ideas. Now feeling that instead discussing via posting questions on main Physics SE would be more helpful.

This room has been relatively silent recently. Just in case it gets frozen, I will remind that moderators can unfreeze chatrooms - so you can ask some moderator (from any site) whether they would be willing to do so. @curious_mind I am not sure what you expect when you want "justification" here. If you want to prove that why the kinetic friction force is less than the maximum static friction force, you need to precisely calculate any factors involved here, which is beyond the scope of the subject. However, I think the phrases "continuous re-forming and tearing of welds" and "chance contacts" somewhat justify the fact microscopically.
