just dropping by to say I'm very happy with the candidates that chose to step up in this election. whether or not you're elected makes no difference: you are an invaluable asset regardless, I hope y'all keep doing what you're doing no matter how this goes. Good luck to all candidates!

@Mast That was a very, very close election. I'm sorry to see that you didn't win. I think the support you did get shows how users on Code Review feel about you, though, and I'm really happy to see that you're not going anywhere, because users definitely seem to trust you enough to be a moderator. People that inspire that amount of trust are rare and should be cherished. :)

@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ and @Peilonrayz Are the "official" winners... just wrapping up some stuff on our end.

A little late to this room, but just wanted to say I'm excited about the slate of candidates. I think a strong slate bodes well for the future. Good luck all.

As an impartial moderator (as in, I am not a CR moderator, but a moderator on another site in the SE network), and Code Review user myself, I don't think 'pro-Monica' or 'anti-Stallman' are issues that need to be brought up in this moderation election chat room regarding their worthiness for a moderator position.

5 years ago I didn't think the world would look like it does now. Was that stupid, ignorant or unaware? I don't know. But the world changed and my behaviour with it.

Typical for Code Review, requiring more characters than is standard.

hey @Catija what's up with the mismatch between constituent badges and votes?

Important thing, though - don't vote for people you don't like. Don't feel like you need to rank everyone.

@Mast Kinda, I got an error about 15k characters being too many. tbf I did write a tl;dr in addition to the 15k because everything was so long... So I spent last night cutting back to 9k. Need to 'one over' everything again but shouldn't have any blockers other than myself today.

I wonder how Jamal is doing these days.

They're not official until I write the Meta post. :P

At least you have the draft ready with plenty of time to spare.

I'd be quite happy to be wrong about that :)

That graph does really interesting things when switching to SO...

I'm really stoked about this election and hope every candidate will keep carrying on the good work, elected or not.

@neu242 I don't think any of the nominees mentioned any of those names in their questionnaires...

The TL is generally a lot better now than it was. We created some new tooling for it this year that is designed to allow mods to flag stuff in the TL that's problematic for a subset of elected TL mods to vote on.

Cool. I intentionally avoided saying "you" because I don't want to feel like I'm accusing people of anything. I've done not nice things in the past and it's easy to say "I'm not like that any more" while forgetting to acknowledge the hurt and apologise. :)
