Just twist the wires together, so if somebody hooks it up in the future it trips the breaker or burns down the house. So they know they shouldn't have hooked it up.

The easiest solution is to get a small child that doesn't mind spinning around inside of the dryer to hold this in place while you're doing the laundry. :D
