Code is only followed when a permit is required.
Oct 25, 2012 19:35
Ok.... let me rephrase that. I won't get nail pops because I finished my drwalll properly and there's only nails along the edge, and if they pop they'll have to take mesh tape and 1/8" of compound with it.

I think 14ga stranded is still Ok on a run of less than a foot, but @Tester101 would need to answer that one. I only know enough electrical to burn my house down.
Oct 24, 2012 13:18
I disagree. It's your problem. It just happens to be your problem with me ;)

@Steven It doesn't bother me personally. I just don't think the site is the best place to vent these types of frustrations.

Oct 16, 2012 17:52
I guess a more ridiculous questions is. Should changing a light bulb require a permit, and/or be performed by an Electrician?
Oct 16, 2012 15:09

Oct 16, 2012 15:08

Strength of a beam is proportional to the second moment of inertia which is 1/12 wh^3. If you double the width, you double the strength. If you double the height, you octuple the strength. (allowing for buckling forces). Or you add a high-tensile member on the tensile thread of the beam, which ... Wait? pornography? Where?

It's like the joke where the guy goes to the doctor and says "it hurts when I touch here... here... here... here", and the doctor says "sir, you have a broken finger."
Oct 10, 2012 17:50
