Right.. because clicking on a link is too hard.. got it.. Whatever.. I'll change it. — RavenHursT 3 mins ago
new pins!!!
No, because those are the requirements, and Code Review will last longer than your link. Also, the code needs to be working, so, if you read the help center (because, you know, clicking a link is not too hard....) you will understand the process.... thanks — rolfl ♦ 1 min ago

TP?
@rolfl I feel like slapping this one with an exploding bear trap, ...but I won't.

Q: Determining the least-accurately known physical constants

user40872So, I thought I'd do this using scipy.constants: import numpy as np from scipy.constants import physical_constants constants = np.array([(k,)+v+(np.nan,) for k,v in physical_constants.items()], dtype=[('name', 'S50'), ('val', 'f8'), ('units', 'S10'), ('abs_unc...

Dude.. Seriously? The code works.. click the darn link. I'm looking for a review of the code and feedback on any edge cases or race conditions that I may have missed. So much for this being a helpful community. What a totalitarian, nonsensical joke. — RavenHursT 1 min ago
5 minute timeout .... for me.... before I do something daft.
Hey @Jamal - what's up?
@rolfl I think it's just bad wording for "it works as far as I know, but I might have missed something, hence I'm here asking for a review" - I stand by my reopen vote.

@rolfl Not much. Just woke up. Should I step in there?
> @RavenHursT This isn't about being juvenile nonsense, it's about respecting people that come here to review your working code. What's juvenile nonsense, is to disrespect the people that try hard every day to keep this site on-topic. See for yourself, how helpful this community is. The only thing we ask, is that you follow a very short and easy-to-follow set of rules.
oops I hit ENTER without meaning it.. oh well
@Mat'sMug that may be ...

one lost, ten found?
no idea... The down'side of being a mod is that I need to be moderate ;-)
@RavenHursT please excercise care when talking with a community mod. especially when this community mod is backed up by the whole community of this site. We politely asked you to comply to the minimal standards we require of questions. These standards are not randomly created by 12 year olds, but we have put a lot of though into them. We want you to comply to these standards to minimize the effort we as helpers have, and to provide maximum learning effect to you as asker. And if you can't accept that, feel free to leave and never come back. — Vogel612 30 secs ago
@Vogel612 well that's ... that's a bear trap!
but it's a polite bear trap.
polite-and-still-exploding bear trap ;)

if OP insists on ignoring all warning signs, I can't help it..
Let's all just back off ....
nice cleanup

Here's your banana. :-)
lol, at least his inbox doesn't allow him to see my full comment ;)

That's the problem.. Look at the question. I've done exactly what your "moderator" has asked for. But apparently simply questioning your "standards", even after complying, is enough to still deny a user from using your service. So much for an "open" community. Whatever. — RavenHursT 24 secs ago
did he RTFM? I think not...
apparently clicking a link is hard...
I am sorry, but I fail to understand. As our mod quoted, I quote again: "I know there's some edge cases and race conditions that I'm missing." This means your code is not doing what it's supposed to. You can ask a question on Stack Overflow for that kind of issue. We will be happy to review your code, as soon as you have included fixes for these "edge cases" and "race conditions" — Vogel612 11 secs ago
If my direct SO weren't such a simpleton that she does sometimes not understand the simplest descriptions (and despite being a programmer) I think this would have been the point where I snapped..

Q: AngularJS controller structure for a browser game module with filters and pagination

MetzgerTo get an idea of what the controller code reflects, here is a screenshot: http://i58.tinypic.com/24waq04.png Basically, the idea is that you print out a list of football players which you can then filter by their name, price, field position, and team. I'm not sure whether it's better to handle ...

@Mat'sMug I'm not disputing that ... but at this point the question can hit the reopen review queue, like the process is supposed to work
I agree. If it were only me I'd keep it closed for "OP is being a childish jerk"
Apr 17, 2014 16:53
well we should reopen and close again..
I certainly do not feel a huge sense of urgency to make the judgement call on whether the code works-as-designed.... I'll leave that to you all.
currently it's closed as "code missing from question"
It was a no-brainer to close it for the missing code.
we should close as "non-working code" instead. given the new edits.
Apr 17, 2014 16:54
^^^^ I am not certain it is non-working ... which is why we have an active javascript community ... ;-)
I think your question is better off in codereview.stackexchange.com. This form of question isn't consistent with the guidelines for stackoverflow. — jfriend00 16 hours ago
duplicate post with probably just another uneducated SO user.
Obviously... I did ask my question in SO.. and was told to come here for my question. And now you're telling me to go back??? stackoverflow.com/questions/23122781/… Please.. tell me which other hoops I need to jump through so that I can simply be allowed to ask a question. Maybe I should dance? Seriously.. someone call #snowden... — RavenHursT 1 min ago

ok let's end this - just reopen the damn thing, OP is still around at this point, he'll stick.
I upvoted it.
I need to get my ass home, though..
The vacuum is getting warm isn't it?

Back off with the comments on the post.
That was me this time. I'd suggest refraining from provoking the OP, otherwise I'll have to lock the post from receiving more comments.
I missed all the fun?
@Jamal - I'm formulating a response here.
Okay
damn it's really getting late...
TTQW, cya later guys ;)

I'll repeat, I think the post should be reopened regardless of the OP's attitude - we can fix that later, for now we need to save a user from walking away hating us and spreading wrong information about the CR experience.

Such people are annoying... Ever moderated a text-based gaming site where moderating/adminning is not only about user retention, but also about actual money...
We're not trying to censor, we're trying to keep the comments section clean and on-topic. Comparing us to a totalitarian government won't help anyone. Do keep in mind that this post is receiving reopen votes, which means others agree that this should be reopened. Please try to cool down for a bit while this is going on. — Jamal ♦ 23 secs ago

what ...?
what happens if I put this into my pre-build Event for all configurations?

Q: Namespacing jQuery/jQueryUi into markup that I don't control (Asked perfectly this time)

RavenHursTI have a project that I've been trying to get just right for the past three months and it's still not quite there yet. I'm injecting some jQuery and jQueryUi code into pages that I have no control over and I need to be able to "sandbox" my code away from anything that may or may not be there at ...

@Malachi the Earth stops spinning! :p
I'd put that in post-build though, only on successful builds ;)
@Mat'sMug but it is going to have connection strings in it?
let's get ridiculous
@RavenHursT you got my +1 here, for the efforts you've put into making your question on-topic. This is the very first time I witness this kind of heat on this site - this community is known to be warmly welcoming and respectful, all that we ask is to go by the [rather small set of] rules; don't forget there's a meta site if you feel these rules are unfair or otherwise wrong. What's true is that CR isn't a debugging service, to put it shortly, we answer the question "does this code make my ass look fat?" ;) — Mat's Mug 18 secs ago
I don't like this user at all. He's having a very bad start IMO.
Again, please don't try to provoke him. You all case votes as desired, and the moderators will handle it from here.
Apr 17, 2014 17:17
@Mat'sMug why the post build event? I am confused
I've refrain from commenting, editing and even vote to reopen his question even if I think it's still off-topic currently (he's still asking for debugging)
@Marc-Andre looks like it works to me, and that OP wants us to look at the code to see if it looks clean.
@Malachi From his question : Please fork this and tell me what I've missed.. Tired of spinning my wheels on this issue. He's still talking about issue. The question is good but this part should be modified a bit.
semantics.
It's been reopened now.
