that's not the normal nether
le gasp how do I get down!??!?
who put that funny little hole in the bedrock there? surely that wasn't done in survival using some bug that I had to test in creative because I couldn't get it to work (also, wow, prot 4 makes TNT do like basically 0 damage)
it goes down for a while, that's for sure
oh it leads to a flight of stairs
and then...another flight of stairs
ooh that's convenient. it leads right into my nether tunnel. I wonder who put that there
anyhow the general gist of what I've accomplished is nether work tonight :p
(fun fact the flights of stairs were already there from when i moved villagers over)
I'll give y'all a little tour of the changes
first, I extended the staircase part of the nether fortress using galvenised square steel nether fences and covered it with eco friendly wood veneer lanterns which I got from my villagers downstairs
then, I installed a ladder for convenient going up and down between floors
breaking news: the blaze farm spawning observation area window is now full glass
you can now watch blazes be slowly pushed to the farming point in full hd
speaking of the farming point
The long tunnel there is now all soul soil
which makes getting back and forth much quicker because of the soul speed II boots (which will one day be soul speed III when I get around to re-doing the enchants on my netherite boots)
that's what my nether hub looks like from a distance. You can see the spawn area (in the cobblestone with the door), the tunnel to the nether fortress, and the cobblestone stairs
what you didn't see was the two other nether roof portals I made before realising I should probably make a nether roof portal close to base to quickly access the other two
because the whole reason I'm on the nether roof is for farming purposes :p
anyhow, I'll leave y'all with a screenshot of some of the work I've done to the front of the cave base
I've started on making a second story
it's not very obvious at first, but you can see the fence railing above the existing glass (which is now an extra block taller)
