@ScottW @Takkat is good at finding etymologies. I can't find anything definite right now (Takkat: origin/original meaning of "den Bogen raus haben")

@DerPolyglott33 Der Satz passt. Und "here goes" in dieser Bedeutung würde eher mit "hier ist es" oder "hier kommt es/kommt's" ausgedrückt :)

@ScottW it might alternatively mean "have the bend out of sth." (Bogen can also be dent/bend in a more archaic meaning). i.e. "having it straight"

@DerPolyglott33 beide Wörter sind möglich, aber ihre Bedeutungen sind leicht verschieden. "möglichst" bedeutet "wenn möglich" ( if possible ); "lieber" bedeutet "vorzugsweise" ( rather, preferably )

Beide Varianten sind meistens möglich und oft gleichbedeutend. Aber in manchen Kontexten könnte der Unterschied wichtig sein, so wie auf englisch auch.
