A Kindle is an e-book reader that uses "e-ink" rather than an LCD screen. It has physical controls to turn pages. If left unused it enters a sleep mode, and you can return to reading by moving a button. Returning from sleep mode causes a light (LED? not sure what it is, but not heat-emitting) ...

If a child cannot reach the upper third of the doorway and he is the primary occupant of said room, may the mezuzah be affixed lower than the upper third?
A father asked me if this site is appropriate for children considering the fact that oftentimes incorrect answers are being posted. Children are very impressionable and as Chazal tell us, Shabeshtah, Kavun D'ul, Ul. , a mistake, once it takes hold, it stays. I understand that in theory, given the...
Many thanks for our awesome theme music to New-York-based producer, vibraphonist, and pianist Ben Portner. You can find him online at myspace.com/benportner or email him at [email protected].
We used a bunch of sounds in this show from Freesound.org. We’ll put a full list in the show notes.
Let me reiterate hearty thanks to Joel Spolsky, Jeff Atwood, Jin Yang, and the reset of Stack Exchange.

And, to quote what the Rebbe used to say at the end of his public gatherings (based on something that Rema used to do), "Those who have to say a berachah acharonah will certainly say a berachah acharonah."
It just occurred to me... I should have introduced the connection to the parshah by quoting the Alter Rebbe's aphorism about that (that "we must live with the times")!
@IsaacMoses True. But (and many people here know this already but some may not) Isaac started mi.yodeya before it was a SE site of the sort we know it as today, recruited the original users, posted the 1st questions, talked to SE about the m.y's joining SE, wrote the area51.se proposal, recruited followers thereof, pushed for enhancements etc. all along the way, and, doubtless, did many things I'm unaware of. He's devoted so many hours to this site, purely in the interest of harbatzas Tora.
@IsaacMoses Pleasure. I hate listening to myself talk (as I suspect many others do as well), but I couldn't resist listening to the playback. I usually express myself much better in writing than in speech. I hope my point was clear enough, though, even if I did sound half-asleep for some reason.
@msh210 has devoted a comparable number of hours to the site, and possibly more, without being as loud about it or making grandiose claims in his profile :)
@msh210 some stereo and computer sound systems have an extra speaker for bass sounds that rests on the floor. It helps with stuff like emphasizing the beat
A subwoofer (or "sub") is a woofer, or a complete loudspeaker, which is dedicated to the reproduction of low-pitched audio frequencies known as the "bass". The typical frequency range for a subwoofer is about 20–200 Hz for consumer products, below 100 Hz for professional live sound, Subwoofers are intended to augment the low frequency range of loudspeakers covering higher frequency bands.
Subwoofers are made up of one or more woofers in a loudspeaker enclosure capable of withstanding air pressure while resisting deformation. Subwoofer enclosures come in a variety of designs, i...
@HodofHod Just rearrange the phrase so it is a sentence not a question, and decide if you would use he or him. In this case: Bar Hedya predicted HE would die. So it's 'who'.
Alternatively, consider 'whom I called'. Rearranged, it becomes: 'I called HIM'. So it's 'whom'.
