Hmm, I guess that is a habit I don't even think about.
It's how I type "Cross Reference". So change that to "References:"?
Or perhaps "Other References"

@Rinzwind Actually, chat pings only get sent to a user if they have visited chat within the last 3 days (moderators are exempt from this rule, they have the ability to send "super pings" that get to a user no matter what)
I think this has to do with the fact that more than one person can have the same username.
so, you can't invite a user to chat. Only a mod can.
Though you could leave a comment under their question.
