News headline in 2023: "Windows now powered by Linux kernel"
2025: "Windows now Linux"
2030: "Windows?"
2031: "Apple acquires Linux"
NO
DONT SAY THESE THINGS
[insert joke about Oracle]
"Oracle acquires Apple and sues all customers"

2033: "Linus Torvalds forks BSD, creates new operating system"
2034: "Systemd is ported to said new OS"
"Names it Xunil"
@NathanOsman That's actually. . . kinda cool.

2035: "BREAKING: It is discovered that Torvalds was working for the NSA all along"
AAAAAAAA
I'm in favor of anything that i) brings FOSS to the limelight; ii) makes Windows more usable; iii) brings more attention and dev time into Linux.
2036: "Richard Stallman comes out of retirement to rewrite all GNU utilites from scratch"
Not to mention that after spending a couple of decades crapping all over Microsoft for not getting involves with FOSS, it's a wee bit hypocritical if I now object that they have done so :P
2037: "GNU Hurd successfully runs a 'Hello World' app for the first time"

2038: "Dennis Richie comes back from the dead to develop X"
@TheWanderer No, they upload his brain to a neural network.
2040: "Steve Jobs resurrects self to steal the credit"
Let's keep this reasonable :P
@TheWanderer [. . . ] to develop the increasingly aptly named X.

Lol.
:)
@TheWanderer It is an ex-system.
2041: "US government bans all forms of computation as 'electrical wizardry for terrorists'."

odear
2042: "Electricity is classified as a banned substance"
2043: "Welp"
Trump's 7th term?
Who knows...
Maybe the "welp" should have come sooner.
2016: "TRUUUUUMP"
I'm out of jokes now. :(

how about this code that I wrote:
if (!blacklist2.equals("")) {
    try {
        Settings.Secure.putString(currentActivity.getContentResolver(), "icon_blacklist", blacklist2);
        Settings.Secure.putString(currentActivity.getContentResolver(), "icon_blacklist2", blacklist2);
    } catch (final Exception e) {
        currentActivity.runOnUiThread(new Runnable() {
            @Override
            public void run() {
                exceptions.secureSettings(view.getContext(), currentActivity.getApplicationContext(), e.getMessage(), "icon_blacklist");
if blacklist isn't empty, do this, otherwise, make blacklist empty
wtf what I thinking
Why not run the whole block in the UI thread?
because it lags everything out
That is so confusing.
Are you sure broadcasts wouldn't be easier?
well now it's just this:
                                try {
                                    Settings.Secure.putString(currentActivity.getContentResolver(), "icon_blacklist", blacklist2);
                                    Settings.Secure.putString(currentActivity.getContentResolver(), "icon_blacklist2", blacklist2);
                                } catch (final Exception e) {
                                    currentActivity.runOnUiThread(new Runnable() {
                                        @Override
                                        public void run() {
actually it's fine without being in a new thread
2044: "Mark Zuckerberg declares himself ruler of the world by intercepting all of Facebook's traffic in realtime and rewriting it on-the-fly in his favor."

Q: Why is the env directory called before echo?

sqlsqlsqlI am looking at a program coded in C. The issue with this program relies on this line of code. system("/usr/bin/env echo and now what?"); I understand that the system() just runs the command. But I am just not sure why it is like that. Normally it would just be "echo and now what". But why is...

Hey, that might make an interesting movie.
2045: "Ancient disc artifact unearthed with strange inscription 'Nickelback' written on it; scientists successfully play the disc and hear bizarre demonic noises."
heheheh
Now I'm truly out of jokes.
