I'm going to use this to make an empty package in the meantime. I just realised that I actually have a bunch of files that spew out a proper .deb when you run "debuild -c -us -uc -tc" (which is thanks to ajmitch and mark tully)
Michael Hall has written a python library simplifying Unity lens development.
You can browse the source code of the bazaar branch online or get a copy of the branch using the command:
bzr branch lp:singlet

then "cd askubuntu-lens/" and "debuild -c -us -uc -tc" to make your own .deb file. just go through all of the files first and change names and paths according to your code
