@tbodt Too much clicking, not enough text.
user4704
Write more before you link off somewhere else.
@Dave here

Java has a JIT.

"If you didn’t understand that, don’t worry," and similar statements are patronizing and useless.

@Lasse do you have the code which shows you calculate when an npc passes a the threshold point for finding the next point
im interesting to see your method
user4704
(If they did, they probably wouldn't be reading your tutorial, if they don't, that's why they are reading.)
user4704
All compiled code can be decompiled easily.
tbh, I think the tutorial at docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial is just fine
user4704
Your pages are dead-ends. That's bad.
user4704
(that is, the "byte code" page does not present easy navigation to the next topic)

2/3rds of your links on the characteristics page go offsite.
public void Update (ESTD.ECS.Entities.Entity e, double deltaTime)
{
	PathFollowerComponent pfc = (PathFollowerComponent)e.Components ["PathFollower"];

	Vector3 position = ((PositionComponent)e.Components ["Position"]).Position;

	// Vector from position to target
	Vector3 direction = new Vector3(pfc.TargetPoint) - position;

	// Distance from position to target
	float distance = direction.LengthFast;

	if(distance < threshold * deltaTime)
	{
		pfc.TargetIndex = GameLevelManager.Current.GetNextPointOnPath (pfc.TargetIndex);
@JoshPetrie I feel offended by your starred statement. how can you define "no dumb stars" independently yourself? I may starred a piece of conversation may due to reasons that you may not included to see. Maybe it had some sentiment value between those who starred it. Isn't it a bit of dictatorial?
@Dave there you go
user4704
@BlueBug Stars aren't bookmarks.
yoyoyoyoylolo heheheh *star myself

Bookmarks are bookmarks.
@Dave would you be willing to wait until tomorrow night, sunday night, maybe even monday (USA)
user4704
Stars show up over there ----------->
@AidanMueller sure im in no hurry
^ stared, OTL
user4704
Too many off topic stars make this place look juvenile. We already have a quality problem, why make it worse?
Jan 18, 2014 04:03
++
After it was starred, it should have said "stars are over here"
@Dave Because I will be unavailable for a while.
@Lasse hmm i see
@AidanMueller its cool dude :)
I see. *TBH I admire moderators for all their hard work.
All right

@tbodt The short version is that the style of the tutorial is informal, the material is non-comprehensive even for a tutorial, and your structure makes for difficult reading (too many short pages, too many off-site links). For something that claims to be a complete tutorial, it has a long way to go.
