^ how is this not a Twitter gif
Chances are it is somewhere
I don't know what this is but it slaps
what the hell is a twitter gif
is there some culturally ordained set of gifs that are the only gifs you can use on twitter
@Ginger the weird and wacky world of surreal entertainment
@UnrelatedString it's a large set of gifs that a very certain kind of person uses to reply to tweets
@lyxal I like this kind of surreal entertainment. I do not like Hydraulic Beanbag-type surreal entertainment.
@Ginger My lovely assistant lyxal will explain further:

I don’t Twitter
but you are a supreme memelord
you’re on your own here
ffs, disappointed in your meme abilites
alright so
reminds me of something
like there was some collection of 3d rendered videos of music playing sculptures
(I'd crack my knuckles but you couldn't tell and I can't actually do that anyway)

i want to say they were mostly made of brass and had a shit ton of lasers
watched the hell out of it as a kid
@Ginger you can't crack your knuckles?
nope
wow
what kind of person is this
do they have some kind of repository of gifs you searched
that isn't just like
tenor or giphy
My sources are beyond your understanding
anyway,
a twitter gif (at least the subset of them I'm referring to):
- is mostly of people going "hell naw" or "hell yea" or similar shit
- is often (but not always) a gif'd version of a STATIC meme image that's already used a lot (see: I don't often x)
- is used pretty much exclusively to reply to Tweets, never by itself
- and finally, could've just as easily been replaced with a "yes" or "no" reply
@lyxal correct-ish?

makes sense
and here's the funniest part: I have never in my life used Twitter
in fact I (currently) don't use most social media (except for YouTube which doesn't really count, and Reddit but without an account)
@Ginger probably

all of my knowledge of this stuff is composed of Twitter screenshots and shit that have leaked into the services I do use
another victory for the "there are 5 websites" theory
That concludes my TED talk, thanks for attending
