Questions about flight simulators aren't really a good fit for Aviation - Some folks here could tell you how the system works on a real plane, but if XPlane's model doesn't behave the same they probably couldn't help you with that part. @vortaq7 One would hope that the simulator would at least work the same as the airplane for as something as simple as engaging the autopilot and selecting heading mode.

@Lnafziger I closed it mostly to set a precedent that asking "how do I do this in x-plane" is not a good question.
It's a bit like asking a home networking question on SF.

Well, "hold" under the heading display is lit up....
I dunno how that autopilot control panel works though.
I'm trying to figure out if the autopilot is even engaged. That might be the issue. :)
EFIS says A/P though so probably.

Haha. Well that hold button is a toggle I think... Between HDG and TRK
EFIS doesn't seem to say HDG but I'm zooming on my iphone
MFD might say TRK actually
And if he has no navaid selected, well, that's why.

@egid The button that says HOLD? The knob above it is to select bank angle.. I don't think it toggles HDG and TRK unless you are looking at a different button than me.
I'd like to see a higher resolution photo though, lol.
