Felt like a nice clean look, figured all the color can come with the counters, appliances, floor, backsplash, but keep the cabinets and walls simple.
The countertop guy complimented my work, said I had everything within 1/16" of level. Apparently some people don't own a good level or know how to use shims.
@Tester101 tag, you're it. I'm going to head off and stalk the HD kitchen guy until he stops talking to other customers and takes my money.

I'm back from my research trip.

People were paddling these funny canoes around.
Drove our cruise ship right up the main street.

Florence is for shoe shopping. The leather is just gorgeous.
Dubrovnik and Kotor, you go to see the old cities.
Rome, you skip unless you're going to stay a while. It's big and spread out.

Sicily could be tough. There's probably 1 flight a day to Rome, and then you have to rely on the Italian Transportation system to get you to Sicily.
Or He might have had to hang out in Amsterdam or Frankfurt for half a day to get to Messina.

his brother worked for alitalia at the time so he got right on the next available flight
think they fly into rome, then south somewhere near calabria then take a boat across
this was probably 15 years ago - i'm sure its changed
so how much did the wife blow on shoes and stuff

I bought a pair of shoes.
Wife bought two handbags.
If you're going for the beauty of the leather, then women's shoes don't have enough substance to show it off.
Women's shoes are about the shoes. Mens shoes are about the leather and craftsmanship.
And, I found out that Tomatoes actually do taste better in Italy.
