I helped my step-sister and her husband with a toilet issue, the design of the toilet has the overflow tube as a large cylinder that's part of the flapper (the tube is therefore about 4" in diameter in the middle of the toilet tank). Something went wrong with the valve and it was siphoning water from the tank into the refill tube.
Normally that refill tube is clipped about 1" above the water line, but this just sat inside that cylinder below the water line.
@Tester101 I still think this tool (at 13 min in) is awesome and a heat gun might work.

does my project really fall under gardening and landscaping? :( thought they were more for what kind of shrubs to plant at what time of the year type stuff
