Welcome to Project Update Thursday
Welcome to all
this weekend's project (which I will remember to take pictures during) - installing landscape timber edging around the sloped garden bed, including hole drilling and rebar pounding
@Aaron I think stranded wiring for light fixtures is typically connected via wire nuts, not sure if there's any way to use it with push-in connectors
They're "allowed" for push-in :
and I have had good luck with newer stranded wires, just the old wire is crappy
learn something new every day
I'm just pondering how well the push in connector would work with stranded wire, visualizing strands going everywhere but in the connector and risking a short
If it's new and you twist the strands together pretty tightly, it goes in without too much difficulty
just the older stranded lamp cord that's been bent back and forth 20 times, it doesn't have enough rigidity to force it in past the clamp

all the more reason I'm sticking with my wire nuts, but then I'm a nutty kind of guy (ba-dum-bum)
/afk (gotta get some fresh air before doing lots of errands tonight)

I hate stranded wire. I generally tin them before connecting.
And, your DIY photo of the week:

Well, this is quiet
I changed the tank->bowl gasket on a toilet this week...and its leaking again...wondering if I need a different kind of gasket...
Did you tighten it enough?
Of course, I've actually broken a toilet by over tightening.
@ChrisCudmore yeah, I tightened them some more last night... yeah that's my fear
Just do each side one turn at a time. It breaks when it gets unbalanced
