Not long afterwards, my MacBookPro5,2 booted with its clock wrong (aside: I haven't bother to run AHT, but will do). In that state I didn't expect it to be any better with that base station but I took the opportunity to test.
I don't have all screenshots handy right now but to my surprise, I ended up with a working connection (and the clock set correctly).

I have a complicated thing I need someone with an iPhone and Google Drive to test. I don't think it's possible to copy a public link in Safari on iOS
