10:00 PM
@Krazer Code not recognized. Warning: Intruder alert. Intruder alert.

@Eric Computer, authorization Alpha-Alpha-3-0-5!

@Krazer Access granted to user 1337-69. Commencing destruction in t-minus 7 minutes.

Man the ugliest pokemon has to be Garbodor
the ironic thing is that although it's made of trash, it can use recycle

@Krazer That may be true, but Sukamon beats him out.

@Krazer Stunfisk is pretty ugly too, but I agree that Garbodor is probably the worst.

10:14 PM
how do I get over my skepticism for pokemon > 151?

@caveman I wouldn't know. I'm still not over mine.

hrmph nothing good on the radio today

@caveman I never had any problems with that. I did a lot of competitive battling, and it's pretty boring until gen 3 at least. Gen 1 competitive battling is basically solved. Newer gens are more about strategy and less about memorization.

IVs made things too complicated D:

> Gen 1 is basically solved

10:17 PM
Plus Hikari is the best of the girls. If nothing else watch the D&P anime for her.

that's scary
I know the depth the pokemon people go into
yes actually I wanna watch the new series

@caveman I know a guy who is top 100 in the world. He literally spends hours practicing and team building every day.

@caveman I'm still pretty sure I can name you any Pokemon of the first three generations + evolutions + levels of evolutions

@MadaraUchiha, how many is that?

If you asked me about... what... 3 years ago, I could name you (for most of them) every single move each learn, and at what levels
@caveman 386

10:19 PM
yikes

@caveman Do you mean BW or DP?

@LoganM, I've only seen S1 actually - and not sure if I saw the last few eps of it

@MadaraUchiha By number? Or what?

@Eric I used to be able to, now probably I can't
But if you give me a name, I can give you evolutions probably :P

Aww. D:
@MadaraUchiha First, let's try: #193

10:21 PM
@caveman DP is the best. Haruka is boring and Iris is 12 (IIRC). Hikari is 10 and not boring.

what does Iris is 12?? mean

@Eric Name please :P

@MadaraUchiha Darn. Yanma :P

@caveman 12 years old

oh

10:22 PM
Yanma that dragonfly weird thing

That's the one. Evolutions?

Has a new gen4 evolution at level 22 (IIRC)

@LoganM, I might watch both I haven't decided yet

Yanmega

@MadaraUchiha Dunno how to verify this, but yes, Yanmega.

10:23 PM
Nope, seems like I got this one wrong

then again there's probably no continuitybetween series

It evolves by learning Ancient Power and leveling up
But like I said, I'm good with gen3 stuff, gen4 stuff I haven't touched that much

@MadaraUchiha name 5 non-evolution related pokemon that do not have levitate or are flying types and have no footprints

@Krazer You're mean!

@Krazer Geodude, Voltorb...
Tokgekiss

10:25 PM
I'll refrain from helping. :P

@Krazer lol I didn't even know pokemon have footprints now. I've never really done anything besides competitive battling.

Dratini

@LoganM they did back in gen 1

Oh, Togekiss is flying, scratch that
Do Missingno or Bad Egg count? :D

@MadaraUchiha togekiss is flying and has a footprint

10:27 PM
@LoganM, yeah I can see DP first :D

@MadaraUchiha lets stick with real pokeymans for this one :)

Caterpie has one?
Diglett doesn't have one for sure

@MadaraUchiha it has one
@MadaraUchiha 1 more~

C'mon, the easy one! There's such an easy one!

Magikarp
(Or a shitload of other water pokemon, now that I think of it)

10:30 PM
Ditto, too.

@MadaraUchiha yay~
don't forget the ghost types too

@Krazer Another challenge! :P

What about the ones with levitate?

@Krazer Ghost types generally have levitate.
"They didn't have levitate in gen1!! Ha. Ha. Ha."

@Mysticial Gastly, Haunter, Koffing, Weezing, Unown...

10:32 PM
@Eric Froslass

@Eric I know which ones have levitate. I can probably name all the gen1-4 ones by heart. But do they have footprints?

@MadaraUchiha Lots of them don't. Smogon.

@Krazer Froslass doesn't have levitate.

@Eric I know

10:33 PM
Why the hell does Gengar have levitate?

Rotom's cool I like rotom

I believe all 5 I found were gen1, were they not?

The things stands.

psychics were OP in gen 1

@Mysticial No, they don't. Gengar counts, because he has legs.
AFAIK, Pokemon only have footprints if they have visible legs.

10:35 PM
@Eric Caterpie?

@MadaraUchiha He has legs! They're tiny, but they exist.
The little spheres on his underbelly are for walking.

Mew should have levitate. The thing floats... lol

Mew's a cheater. xD

Synchronize is almost useless in Uber tier.
Nobody would be dumb enough to invoke status on Mew.
And timing a switch-in is risky and tough.

@Mysticial lol
Wonder Guard FTW

10:39 PM
Whereas switching Mew in on a Groudon Earthquake is a lot easier.
@MadaraUchiha lol

user2158732im on a minecraft server named zonecraft ip address is 193.35

^^ wtf?

@Mysticial delv it.

Needs one more.

@Mysticial Tempted to upvote.

Though I think we're the only two 20ks here.

LOL Krazer.

10:41 PM
That's not a valid IP address. — Krazer 14 secs ago
lol

@Mysticial If a question is buried in the activity stack, then brought to the top, and that activity is deleted, does the question stay "active"?

@Eric yes

@Mysticial Mew is irrelevant in ubers nowadays anyways. It got demoted to UU after people realized it's just a glorified Smeargle with a smaller movepool.

@Mysticial Eh. That's kinda dumb.

@LoganM Is Mew that easily killed in Ubers?

10:44 PM

A: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

user2158732i meant 193.35.58.59 and it wont let me on it just says connection error

@Mysticial
lol
This guy is determined to get onto that Minecraft server.

lol
I dumped it in the C++ room and it's -3 already.
I'm mean...

I was one of them. lol
Besides, it's not mean. He can't lose rep.
We're losing more than he is.

@Mysticial Well, yeah. Darkrai, Giratina, Genesect, and some Arceus all have STAB super effective attacks. 100/100/100 defenses aren't enough to withstand attacks from Deoxys, Rayquaza, or really any of the other big attackers other than Mewtwo. Arceus also has almost the same movepool, and better stats universally. The only 100/100/100/100/100/100 pokemon in Ubers is Manaphy, and that's because hydrorest is too broken in OU with those defenses.

@LoganM The best Pokemon in the game is Smeargle.

Is Smeargle Uber now? Or is it still OU?

10:50 PM
Don't know. But I can kick all your asses with my Pt Smeargle.
Moveset: Roar of Time, Spatial Rend, Hyper Beam and ExtremeSpeed

It won't survive a Choice Scarf Kyogre's Water Spout, which is the most significant move in the tier. If you can't survive that, you need a really good reason to be considered even playable in ubers.

I love abusing Articuno in the Battle Tower.

Or was it Blast Burn?

It sucks as a sweeper, but works great as a wall smasher in the Battle Tower.
@LoganM Even when EVed to take it?
Although I can't imagine any Mew not EV'ed for max speed.

@MadaraUchiha Arceus can get all 4 of those moves...

10:53 PM
@Mysticial Give me any 1:1 battle. You with any lvl100 pokemon, vs my lvl2 rattata, And I win every time.
@LoganM But you can't get Arceus without cheats, now can you? :P
No challengers?

Does rattata learn endeavor?

@Mysticial? All your talks of EVs and stuff? :P
@Mysticial Nope.

Because a lvl 1 pokemon with Endeavor + priority move + focus sash could do it...

@Mysticial lol EVs don't mean a thing. STAB base power 150 water spout in the rain off of Kyogre's ludicrous SpA is going to kill pretty much anything that doesn't resist it, especially with the obligatory SR support. To get a sense of how ridiculously powerful Kyogre is, Eviolite Chansey can be 2HKOed by a choice specs water spout. Nobody uses specs though because scarf already kills everything Kyogre wants to kill.

@LoganM You can tell I don't play Ubers much... lol

10:58 PM
@MadaraUchiha It was released at the 12th movie premier in Japan.

@LoganM But you don't live in Japan, now do you? :P

@MadaraUchiha I know plenty of people who do. It's easy enough to trade for one.

@Mysticial Yeah that's pretty much it.
Almost cost me a friendship once that tactics :D

@MadaraUchiha I took on a friend once. No Ubers, but we both agreed to one cheap tactic that is normally banned in OU.
He went in with Wobuffet. I went in with Articuno.

@MadaraUchiha If your friend had no weather support or priority attacks or any other counters to that, he deserved to lose.

11:01 PM
@LoganM We were like, 12 y/o? :P

@Mysticial I'm guessing you used lock on + sheer cold or something like that?

It was before the time of YouTube and tutorials

And I just answered my first question on SO in 4 weeks.
@LoganM yeah
And I won that match.

@MadaraUchiha oic. I didn't really get into serious pokemon battling till I was 15 so I guess that makes sense.

He thrashed my entire team when he switched the Wobbuffet into my Starmie.

11:03 PM
@Mysticial Meh, if your friend used destiny bond the moment he saw you used lock-on.

But then I eventually took out the Wobbuffet with the Articuno.
@MadaraUchiha It was basically a guessing game.

I mean, seriously, mind read with articuno is probably the oldest trick in the book.

Was I gonna use Sheer Cold, or some other useless move to stall a turn.

@Mysticial If you use mind reader, you're going to use sheer cold.
And even if you don't, it doesn't really work at your advantage there to use a different move

@MadaraUchiha My Articuno was obviously locked in by the Wobbuffet. But he should just randomly use Destiny Bond because it has low PP.
So if I just kept on using Mind Reader, he wouldn't be able to kill me.
And did he didn't want to risk using encore on a Sheer Cold.

11:05 PM
@Mysticial Only he'd eventually take the risk to attack you or use encore, and you'd be stuck.
(At least that's what I'd have done)

I ended up landing a non-locked-on Sheer Cold.

He didn't see it coming. Since it wasn't locked on.

Looks like Brad Larson took care of our minecraft guy

@MadaraUchiha Didn't Thiefmaster did?

11:07 PM
I would just attack the Articuno. Sure, it might get a KO, but it shouldn't get 2 if your team is built well. Unless his team was already out of things to deal with it, in which case any generic sweeper would probably work just as well.

@Mysticial Mmhmm, Brad protected it though

@LoganM He didn't have anything that could even 2KO the Articuno.
And he realized that my Articuno was faster than his entire team.
So the only chance he had was to put Wobbuffet in front of it.

@Mysticial Marked as "Not an answer". :)

lol

@Eric hehe

11:10 PM
I do remember killing off everything he that was fast with my Starmie and Infernape.
Granted, neither of us were competitive battlers.

@Mysticial That's just poor team building. I always set up stealth rock which would take off 50% of Articuno's health right away, and I have a couple of rock attacks on my team. Plus Articuno isn't even fast for OU. 2/3 of my current team would outspeed it.

And Articuno (even with Lock+Cold) sucks in OU for anything other than wall-smashing.
@LoganM Like I said, neither of us were "serious" battlers.
We both had EV-trained teams, but we didn't have any real team-building or OU tactics.

Well folks I'm off to bed

night

As much fun as Pokemon is :D

11:13 PM
night

That Articuno that I have was specifically for Battle Tower. Not for competitive battles against real people.

cant wait to get home

dammit, it's cloudy today. I'm not gonna be able to see the comet.

aw that sucks

11:22 PM
If you want a battle tower pokemon, hack an Aerodactyl with Head Smash, Brave Bird, Flare Blitz, and Wood Hammer and stick a Choice Band on it. That will beat entire teams with no difficulty.

@LoganM I try to keep it legit. More of a self-satisfaction thing.
I don't even have hacked IVs for any of my pokemon.
I don't actually get a lot of kills with the Articuno. My two primary sweepers do it.
But occasionally, things like Cresselia or Dusknoir will wall out both my sweepers.

For all practical purposes, Shell Smashing Cloyster should do the trick. The few counters it has can be dealt with by your other pokemon.

@LoganM I've had bad experiences with BT pokemon getting away with multiple double teams.
And ending like a 60+ streak because they went first, and got Double Team in and I missed 5 times in the row.

I don't know anything about battle tower. DT isn't allowed in the standard OU metagame so I don't really know how to deal with it.

@LoganM Yeah, I know it's banned. But in the BT, it's very common. It needs to be dealt with - reliably.
Although DT rarely ever works, if it works just once, you're screwed unless you have 100%-accuracy moves.
Or in my case, lock-cold Articuno.

11:28 PM
The only 100% move I've ever used was Aura Sphere.

So basically in my Battle tower experience. My first two sweepers take care of anything. Maybe once in 5 or so battles do I actually need to rip out the Articuno do get rid of walls and DT garbage, and Wobbuffet...
Yes, they use Wobbuffet in the BT.

Do they not use Stealth Rock very much?

@LoganM They do, but since it's 3v3, it's not effective.
Rarely have I ever had to use Articuno with Stealth Rock in effect.

@Mysticial Wobbuffet is allowed now. It's not even that good. Too much stuff can deal with it.

For the most part, it's the rock types that use Stealth Rock, in the BT. Both of my sweepers get Super-effective STAB on rock types.
So they don't even have a chance to set it up.
I intentionally set it up that way because I know that rock types will rip Articuno.

11:34 PM
Do they use dream world abilities? Shadow tag Chandelure has been scaring me for a while.

@LoganM I haven't done much BT in gen5.
@LoganM That sounds like a beefy version of Dugtrio... Except slower...

@Mysticial You can give it Choice scarf if you need speed. It doesn't really need it so much. It can take a hit or two and not much is going to survive its Choice Specs attacks. It's like if Dugtrio affected 35% of the OU metagame.
I just did a damage calc for Scarf Kyogre Water Spout vs Maximally specially defensive Mew. If I give Mew a +SpD nature it deals 80.19-94.55%. After Stealth Rock, that's a 50% chance to OHKO. Without SR, it's guaranteed 2HKO even with leftovers. If Mew doesn't have +SpD nature, it's 87.87-103.46%, which is a guaranteed OHKO after SR, 25% without it.

Are we still battling Pokeymans?

@LoganM woah...

11:50 PM
And no one is ever going to run a Mew with max HP and SpD and +SpD nature. So for all practical purposes, Mew is not going to survive against Scarf Kyogre.
