I support removing the tag. For one thing, the level of what is called a "qualifying exam" is different between educational systems, or even institutions within the same system. The tags "qualifying exam" / "entrance exam" / "preliminary exam" / "competency exam" would not make a difference in how one answers the question: as with "homework" tag, the main point is to help the OP solve such problems in the future on their own.
