Idle curiosity. When writing tag wiki excerpts, am I the only one who feels like I'm writing Apples to apples card captions?

@HodofHod Thanks for adding them. Might I suggest you add the same text to the wiki as to the wiki excerpt, just so something's there? It's seen... somewhere or other (I forget where) that the excerpt isn't.

@HodofHod I just dropped in to tell you to try and put more information in the wikis which are supposed to be larger works, but I see msh210 advised otherwise.

At least let it stand for the record that improvements and expansions to the wikis are welcome.

@HodofHod It's not just you. Tag wikis are very seldom dealt with on Mi Yodeya. We only have 26 tag editors and 2 research assistants.

I wonder if non-Jews (or at least non-Hebrew speakers) find them useful, or if no one notices them.

@DoubleAA In general, I think our tags are a mess, vis-a-vis transliteration standards, formatting standards, etc.

I know there is no official transliteration scheme for questions and answers, but I noticed we are inconsistent in our tags. Consider the tags shabbat and tzitzis. Now it's true that shabbos and tzitzit both map to those as tag synonyms, but shouldn't we be consistent in choosing the default view...

Everyone is welcome to suggest synonyms. So far only 8 people ever have done so.

@HodofHod I'd use it sparingly, at most. These are meant to be definitions for the uninitiated and/or precise formulations of tag scope. In either case, a misconstrued humorous comment could confuse matters.

@DoubleAA @HodofHod No, no, I don't think otherwise. Definitely more info should be in the wikis. I'm just saying that having the same info in the wikis as in the excerpts is better than nothing in the wikis.
