12:10 AM
Aww, Dick Clark's head celebrating New Year's makes me sad.
As requested my rough schedule for rewatching the show is Mon-Thurs 6-10PM, Sat & Sun 10AM-11PM. All times CDT (-5 UTC)

12:48 AM
I thought about the boundaries of Futurama questions and how serious we have to be when dealing with that show

Q: Constructive Futurama Questions?

bitmaskI was wondering what requirements or guidelines we should put up for Futurama questions to be constructive, to avoid bergs of questions being closed. One of the great aspects of the show is that it has some sort of meta-humour as it messes with our geeky minds by purposefully and intentionally b...

Yes... serious...

in need of a better word

Analog clock? Oops. Blew that edit.

It's always this time where I am.
I'm in Central Time, USA.

@Keen He probably means me, because he stumbled over the first pun :)

12:54 AM
@bitmask Yep. jumped into chat with both feet and stumbled.
I see there is a Bender question. Isn't it early?

@MajorStackings You've gotta be more careful, that can hurt ...

@MajorStackings Yeah, be sure to watch your head when coming in here.
@MajorStackings It's never too early for Bender! (and yes, the contest starts tomorrow)
I'm on the 3rd episode at this point. Bender and Fry are moving in together.

I suppose the puns in the meta-questions were too subtle :)
I had so much fun ...

@Keen Ah yes. They go into the closet as friends. I forget if they ever came out.

1:22 AM
Both Zapp and Nibbler are introduced in this episode. They just kept on adding new characters early on.
room topic changed to Futurama viewing: Brannigan's chat room is like Brannigan's love. (no tags)

@Keen champagne?

MULTIBALL MULTIBALL!

literal lol here

@bitmask I didn't realize you were such a coinasseur.
I love Blurnsball.

1:38 AM
@Keen as I said: large parts of dialogue - by heart :)
anyway, enjoy your viewing, I'm off

Bye
I really like the New New York Yankees logo they made:

1:57 AM
Woo, I'm already halfway through S1.

2:10 AM
I wonder if our primitive 21st century "High Definition" TVs could resolve Amy's tattoo....

13 hours later…
3:00 PM
@Keen You should submit that as question to the gods of Futurama :)

@bitmask I'm thinking about it

3:31 PM
This is awesome!
Also, just f y'all's I, the exact details of the Q&A event that I referenced in the pre-edited version of the Meta post are still super-secret and under wraps, so please keep it in your heads and hearts, and not in your mouths and typing-fingers. Once it's officially announced, it'll be open season on discussions about it.

@BrettWhite Am I missing something? If its on Meta, how can it be secret?

@bitmask The details of it were on Meta, I didn't know it was supposed to be secret, I edited the details out of the Meta post
as in the specifics (time, date, who is involved)
They're still viewable if you check out the last edits, but hopefully that's buried enough in the site that Average Joe won't know it's there, for what little time is left before the event

@BrettWhite Don't worry, my rotten mind has forgotten most of the specifics anyway by now. Just remember that there was something ;)

@BrettWhite I'm resisting the urge to star this line so it will be more easily accesible to the Average Joe!

@DavRob60 Curses!!

4:21 PM
@BrettWhite You can have an admin wipe that info from the edit history if you need it gone for real.

@Keen That would be great. Mods are admins, right? Or community team?

@BrettWhite The community team folks.

@Keen Cool

quick got to take a screen cap!
Bwahahahahahahaha!
@BrettWhite If you don't get me "the complete futurama collection" (or sharks with freaking lasers attached to theirs head), I will post the screen-cap on Reddit! Bwahahahahahahaha!

@DavRob60 You evil mastermind!

1 hour later…
5:38 PM
We have a community ad for Futurama week!

1 hour later…
7:03 PM
I'd like to bounce a Head Museum question off someone.

7:14 PM
Shoot

Why hasn't David Byrne been featured as one of the talking heads in the Head Museum?
Too speculative?

lol
i'd say too speculative.

OK. I've ran amok enough for one day anyway...

although, maybe there's a good "how do they choose head museum characters?" question there. but that seems a bit broad.

Thanks, I'm sure I'll have others before the week is through.

3 hours later…
9:52 PM
Aww, and now The Beastie Boys make me sad.

Keen has made a change to the feeds posted into this room

I've added the site's feed for so we'll get new questions auto-posted in here.
At least, that's what I think I've done. We'll see if it works.

That could be interesting...I find it helpful that I'm a fan who hasn't seen all of the episodes. There are all kinds of things I've been scratching my head over that are being brought to light.
@Keen I wonder if I should edit my migrated question to point out that when they rotated the Earth backwards in "That Darn Katz!", it was already at a standstill?

10:42 PM
Ehh, that then opens it up to 'why aren't they bombarded with cosmic radiation?' issue.

Q: Does Morbo ever make good on his statements?

PureferretMorbo refers to himself as 'the Annihilator' and frequently threatens mankind. Has he or his species ever made good on his threats? Or is Linda right in dismissing him?

Q: Why the occasional musical sequences?

KeenOccasionally in Futurama there are musical sequences. For example, the Robot Hell song in S1E9 contains the first original song sung in the show. Offhand, I'd estimate there are 1-2 songs each season. What's the reason for the musical sequences? It's not like most animated TV shows or sci-fi ...

Q: Has French fallen out of use?

Pureferret "This is my Universal Translator, although it only translate into an incomprehensible dead language" When Cubert speaks into it 'Hello', it responds 'Bonjour'. Does this mean French is a dead language in the year 3000? Supposedly, this is revealed in Space Pilot 3000, but I can't find a re...

Q: Does Cubert have a clone-day?

PureferretI'm sure at some point I've seen an episode of Futurama where they celebrate Cubert's cloning day, or his sample taking day? I've searched on two separate occasions to find the reference but I can't. Could someone help me?

Q: How much time is lost in 'Time Keeps on Slippin''

PureferretIn time Keeps on Slippin', Farnsworth creates a basketball team which he matures by abusing Chronitons. This leads to time skipping forward by random, but ever increasing amounts. How much time was skipped in this way?

Excellent, the feed works. Muahahahaha.
