@badp No, it's purely cosmetic... but it's rare to have two items with particle effects equipped, since you can only do it on two classes (Medic and Spy)
I probably should have just gotten a better effect Unusual on my Engineer instead, since you can't see a Spy's hats when he's disguised... but it DOES show up in the kill cam.

You can ask the question, but I can tell you right now that it's because the Vortigaunts were being controlled by the last boss (whose name I don't recall) of HL1.
You might have to find the hidden Singing Vortigaunt guy to get that explanation... I'm not sure. Which is also an HL2 achievement, now that the game has achievements.

I started to get bored of the Doom 3 expansion (Resurrection of Evil) as soon as I realized the game was intentionally shorting me ammo to force me to use the gravity-gun clone.
and I say Gravity Gun clone because it's a weapon that didn't exist in Doom 3 (came out the same year as Half-Life 2) but it's in the expansion (came out a year after Half-Life 2).

One of the nice things about Team Fortress 2 is that I can change classes at any point in a round without any disadvantage, but in MNC, if I'm sucking at a class, changing classes puts me at a serious disadvantage.
@sinni800 Each class in MNC has two weapons and 3 special skills. The weapons usually have two firing modes (one of which is a short-range grapple attack).
er... one of your alt firing modes is a grapple attack that is.
The thing is, you have four things that you can upgrade for money you earn in game. But if you change classes, the class you change to has all level 1 skills and whatever money you had prior to changing.
