I've noticed a bit of a pattern with many of the puzzles you set, and just wanted to have a brief chat about it - many seem to be open-ended, and end up not having a single obviously correct answer
For example, various matchstick-style puzzles, where the "right" answer isn't known in advance
I'm a little concerned because people put in time and effort to answer these, and no answer is ever accepted as correct - that suggests one of two things, neither of which is particularly desirable here.
1, there is no specific "best" answer. That, right there, is pretty much literally the definition of a question that is too broad, as it does not identify criteria by which the "best" answer can be determined
For matchstick puzzles, I have one answer but amazingly the stack community is very creative. I will infuture accept the correct answer for all my puzzles. Thanks for the suggestion
alternatively, 2, there actually is a "best" answer but you're not accepting it; while accepting an answer is not mandatory, it is somewhat the expectation of the Q&A format and is a token reward to the best answerer, as well as serving as notice to others that the puzzle is solved (or, perhaps, signals which is the answer to beat)
One thing you may want to do is take a look at your profile for questions asked, and cast an eye over the list to see which ones are still not accepted
when I first thought to have this chat with you - which was a couple months ago hehe - it was like 50% accept rate, which is pretty terrible. It's gotten somewhat better since, but there's still many with no accept.
So really, two requests -
1, open-ended puzzles are ok, but should have right from the beginning some specific criteria given for how you will determine the "best" answer - please try to think about that and add such criteria when you post one of these
and 2, like I said, take a look at past ones and try to pick a best answer for ones that have been solved.
