Why does FIRE break when you load older messages? It does like the first load, then doesn't show up.

@angussidney I have no idea why, but it keeps regressing back to git rev 3338b03 (this one), where it chokes on ws.py:296 because that's python 2 syntax, and whyDataAllspam.p gets corrupted.
