@Tezz @TheDestroyer @RakeshJoshi @Rickross I just posted a question related to Shiva:

Q: Why does the Todala Tantra prohibit worshiping Nilakantha in the Kali Yuga?

Keshav SrinivasanJust like Vaishnavas follow Pancharatra Agamas and Shaivites follow Shaiva Agamas, Shakta follow Shakta Agamas, aka Shakta Tantras. (I discuss an exception that proves the rule here.) One such Shakta Agama is the Todala Tantra. In Patala 5 of the Todala Tantra, Shiva tells Parvati about methods...

@KeshavSrinivasan Is Todala tantra authentic?

@TheDestroyer Yeah, it is.

@KeshavSrinivasan May be this portion was interpolation like few portions in Padma Purana. But anyways, both form of Shiva are allowed as per Puranas. Brigu's curse is not alone responsible for Linga worshiping, His linga form exists from time immemorial.

@TheDestroyer Yeah, it's certainly possible that this passage is an interpolation. In any case, it's strange that Shiva would say "If someone does the puja or actions of Nilakantha, it is like slaying me." when he is Nilakantha.

I saw one question yesterday to answer which community has given links to all the books to read about hinduism, I am trying to search that but not able to find , can anyone give link of that question.

@KeshavSrinivasan haha... it is wonderful... in any case I do not agree with it... even the SataRudriya says 'Namo Nilagrivaaya Cha...' and Kaivalya Upanishad also says 'Trllochanam Nilakantham Prashantam... ' and Vedas are valid for all Yugas...

@Pandya The real meaning of the riddle is "If a Jiva dwells in Samsara, what will it experience and where will it reside." And Nammalwar's answer means "In its natural state it will experience the fruits of Samsara and it will continue to reside in Samsara forever." That is the necessity for Sharanagati.
@KeshavSrinivasan When Nammazhwar says, "Atheye Thindru Angeye Kidarkum", he means in the context of the question - "It will continue to eat that (which is considered food) and it will continue to remain there (which is considered residence)" On the nature of the jivAtma being in samsara as its natural state, i don't think that conclusion can be made given the context of the question and the answer rendered.

@Tezz You may be interested in this chapter of Lalla's Shishyavriddhida Tantra, which is a famous 8th century Hindu astronomical work: gdurl.com/JaoM In this chapter Lalla' tries to refutes various "false theories" in astronomy. Most of the theories he refutes are things taken from Hindu scripture, like Rahu swallowing up the Sun and Moon, the Earth being supported on the back of a turtle or serpent, etc.
@Tezz He also tries to refute Aryabhatta's theory that the Earth rotates around its own axis, haha.
