1:16 AM
@Aurora0001 also, another mate of mine just produced this, which may interest some folks here: kickstarter.com/projects/2072712581/…

7 hours later…
7:58 AM
Hi!
Anyone here worked on Espruino WiFi Board espruino.com/WiFi

8:41 AM
@RoryAlsop Looks pretty interesting, and the backer prices seem reasonable too; I'll have to keep an eye on it

8:56 AM
@RoryAlsop crossposting to The Bakery
I like the name of the device, though the routing on the PCB does not follow my personal style guide ;)

9:21 AM
@Ghanima I think he aimed it to be very obvious in every way, so that parents/teachers could build and use with kids, which may have steered some of his routing choices.

9:37 AM
I know I did not intend to throw any blame around

9 hours later…
6:57 PM
Phew, back!
Sorry for being gone for so long (tm).
Take that back, actually, I'm not sorry (sorry!); I was enjoying myself. ;)

@anonymous2 Nice to see you around again!
@anonymous2, you beat me to the comment

@Aurora0001 Was untapping, but had about 5 minutes warning before leaving, so I didn't even have time to drop a comment.
@Aurora0001 ;)
As soon as I saw the downvote, I started typing fast. ;)

7:19 PM
Bother.
Not on IoT, btw.
On AU.

Not even got Enthusiast yet?

On IoT, yes, not on Ask Ubuntu.
Wait, no I haven't.
Oh my!
I didn't realise that I don't have it on IoT.
I've been trying to keep up my record on some sites, but I didn't even realise I don't have it here...

Yeah, seems like you're unlucky... You get close every time and then miss a couple of days

@Aurora0001 It has to do with the nature of my work.

Yeah, I gathered. Perhaps you need a bot

7:27 PM
I work for a couple days solid, then have a week "off" or so.
@Aurora0001 Lol.
I can play by the rules at least... I'm not that badge hungry.
We all know a badge isn't worth the screen it's displayed on.

@anonymous2 Badges are just as valuable as rep ;)

@Aurora0001 In other words, not at all?

Indeed. Although I suppose rep does give you privileges

I'd frankly rather be helping people 4 days out of 7 than sitting around counting badges 7 / 7.
Review queues, answers, questions, on whatever stacks I can help on. :)

@anonymous2 But you can't help people unless you have the badge to prove it! (tm)

7:29 PM
@Aurora0001 Definitely. (tm)

You're not doing bad with your people reached stat... 19,000 people
Quite impressive to think of

57k for you.
@Aurora0001 Yes, but I realised just how impossible those stats are. Check my workplace account.

69,000... wow

It kept jumping up, and I kept wondering why.
Reason was, I answered a HNQ while it was still hot.
So all those views got attributed to me.

Heh, it's a weird co-incidence... I read that answer earlier today
But didn't realise it was yours

7:32 PM
Which one?

The "Dealing with an employee that went over my head"

Oh, yes. My top network post that I wrote in about 2 minutes. :)
So maybe I really am reaching that many people. ;)

Well, as I say, I didn't notice the user... but obviously your post did reach me
That question on IoT is incredible for being very hot and yet getting nearly zero views
This one:

Q: How can I set up main and failover MQTT subscribers for a job queue with AWS IoT?

Paul GrinbergI have an system where a client (let's call it ClientA) can publish requests to a particular MQTT topic. The broker, in case it matters, is Amazon Web Services. Then I have another client (let's call it MainSubscriber) which is always subscribed to the same topic so that it can pick up requests f...

76 views, yet it's at 88% 'hotness'

76? Mine says 80, I think...

Yeah, it just updated

7:37 PM
Yep, 80.
Lots of comments here which basically were opinions and commentary. Take those to chat instead of here, thanks. — enderland ♦ 2 days ago

you people crazy

Huh?
@Ghanima Who, us?

you and the madnificent

Oops... About the HNQ?

yepp

7:41 PM
Well, check the Area51 stats.

how long will you be watching its development ;)

@Ghanima Until it's graduated!

@anonymous2 You mean forever? ;)

what?
do questions graduate these days?

@Ghanima "It" referred to the question or the site?

7:43 PM
Graduate to the HNQs? Although that's more a punishment in some ways...

Or rather the Area51 stats...

I can't follow

@Aurora0001 Yes, brings in lots of NAA's and VLQ's....
@Ghanima You asked how long we will be watching "it"'s development.

@Ghanima When you said "how long will you be watching its development ;)", @anonymous2 thought you meant the site, not the question

<Gulp.>

7:46 PM
which site btw?

@Ghanima IoT.SE?

ah
out of a thousand guesses I would have never got that

8:02 PM
@Ghanima Funny, there are only a hundred or so.
Oh, no, I suppose not, actually.
89, precisely.

that cannot be right
Accounts (92)
and I haven't even joined each and every site

@Ghanima Sorry, was just counting betas, since we were talking about graduation.
@Ghanima You haven't? Slacker!

yeah, I figured that a second (or a tenth of a second) after posting that
now you make me look stupid
@anonymous2 I will, uhm, join them, right away

(tm)?

All product names, logos, and brands are property of their respective owners.

8:09 PM
Right.
Of course.

8:27 PM
@Aurora0001 ...you read fast! (tm)

8:39 PM
so, kids, how is the going
anything noteworthy happened on A51?

1.4 Q's per day. Better than it has been, and some of those are really input from new community members, so that's good.
It still has plenty of room for improvement.
We've had a couple subject matter experts join recently and make a couple quality posts, so we're grateful for that.

real sme's?

And His Madnificents isn't doing anything terrible right now.

well that is good news

@Ghanima I thought about using that abbreviation, but a quick Google turned up Small and medium-sized enterprises, so I thought better of it.
@Ghanima Helmar and I are hard put to it, but we manage more or less. ;)

8:42 PM
@anonymous2 true
but since you established the term I felt confident to use an acronym
