@ProgramFOX my rubiks cube looks almost exactly like yours, except the middle pieces are circular rather than rounded squares

@angussidney Cool, what brand is it?

@ProgramFOX guo guan
@ProgramFOX I assume you speedcube? If so, what's your best time?

@angussidney Best is 28.6 sec, but I haven't trained for over a year.
And you?

Wow, I can only get 36.something

Wow, I can't solve a Rubix cube at all.

10:27 AM
@Glorfindel It takes time, dedication, lots of practise and remembering :)

That's not bad either :) I had a goal of sub-25 but then I kinda stopped cubing and started playing more chess... I should start again.

I haven't solved a standard cube in a while now, but I've recently tried solving a mirror cube - boy they are confusing

A mirror cube?
ah, those silver strangely-formed cubes

That looks terribly confusing indeed. :P
huh, I just did a 28.7!
apparently the lack of training wasn't that bad
I just forgot most of the OLL and PLL stuff I ever learnt

10:38 AM
I wonder if there's a cubing chatroom somewhere? I'm sure these guys are getting bored by our cubing chat :)

hmm... would the Puzzling chatroom be appropriate for that?

This is probably a bit better

20 messages moved from Charcoal HQ
There we go

I was just about to do that

Do you have a Square-1 by the way? I have one and never managed to solve it
Although I guess I can blame my terrible English when I got it so I couldn't look up a decent guide :P

10:42 AM
No, never head of them actually

So what method do you use? Standard CFOP or?

Yeah, but with two-step OLL and PLL. I haven't learned the algorithms for one-step OLL and PLL, and I forgot the few ones that I learned :P

I do cross, corners, second layer, two-step OLL then 1 step PLL
I'm working on doing F2L in one step

Cross + F2L gives a significant time improvement once you get used to it

10:51 AM
White on bottom I assume?

yeah
