"alternative treatment" gets four FP candidates in all of SE currently stackexchange.com/search?q=%22alternative+treatment%22 while there are 7 TPs in Metasmoke metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/…
is this an acceptable balance?

it'd be nice to be able to except Health, but that takes a bunch of true positives too
@tripleee Probably best to leave that one out; it feels fp-prone and 63% isn't a great accuracy rate

@Undo that's the historical record over all of the search results in SE; the current FP rate projection would typically be lower

cc @ArtOfCode @Undo I had an idea: What about an userscript that one can add to their browser that will add a red flag to every post that MS has autoflagged (Basicly increased autoflag count but the users themselves do it). Would that be skirting SE rules?

@Magisch that could result in the post being deleted by autoflags

@SmokeDetector k
@Mithrandir exactly, we don't want that.

@SmokeDetector k

Autoflagging 101: there's always at least one qualified person checking the post before we nuke it.

could protect that by grabbing post score and not autoflagging when it's at -5 (or -2 respectively for the sites with reduced spam thresholds)

@Magisch huh? the heuristics themselves have guards, the sane way to prevent mistakes is to require the weight to be high

@Magisch up-/downvotes can mess with that.

7:55 AM
[ SmokeDetector | MS ] URL in title: amazfitpace.org/optimal-rock-reviews/ by prech afrok on apple.stackexchange.com

if you want to unleash multiple autoflags, a good safety measure would be to require more weight for more flags

tpu- by tripleee

and I suppose even more radically maybe require TP feedback and no FP feedback before using additional flags

@tripleee I dont think so

Also, if SE doesn't allow us to autoflag multiple times from Smokey, I doubt they'll approve this.

7:57 AM
we're moving in 99,x% territory
more weight will shave off maybe 1-2 barely FPs over the course of a year
Gotta remember, lots of the FPs that are in our statistic are actually debateable.

it's more a question of how we can act responsibly to avoid any mistakes we could have easily prevented
putting in safety checks and disabling them if they are too strict is way better than ending up with something which wants to take over the world
3
we should strive to focus our efforts on reviewing corner cases, not on removing manual input entirely

sure, i suppose
2 days ago, by angussidney
On an unrelated note, should someone ping pops or another CM and ask for an update on wether or not we're able to start doing multiple autoflags?

Am I supposed to be able to see another user's autoflagging logs? Because I can if I know / guess their ID

Also, Mornin'

How 'bout now?
It worked 😃 pressure, yay!

oh I thought you meant a menu to pick the user whose feedback you want to see

Nah, just a link to the user list

@Magisch anyone is welcome to do that for themselves, of course. I'd be cautious about making it an organised thing, though - it still relies on one system, even if the flags are cast from a different place.

@ArtOfCode Did anyone of you ever asked again in response to angus's comment btw?

8:11 AM
shrug
I didn't

that seems to be falling between the cracks again and again -- is there any way to coordinate and document it better?

@ArtOfCode I have a feeling Pops just forgot about us between the busy life of being a CM
Can't be that hard of a decision, not like he'd need joel to sign off on it

Don't bet on it. Remember this thing is unique.

quite possible, but we should make it as easy and transparent as possible from our end so that others (on the SO/CM side, as well as here) can fill in and pick up whatever needs to be picked up

It honestly looks like they're putting zero effort into anything from their side

8:13 AM

tpu- by Magisch

of course

8:15 AM
so understanding what's been done by whom etc would be a good start

@Magisch Yeah, it's frustrating. But... don't get too agitated. We'll do what we can to push it along, but if SE doesn't have the time to allocate to this or doesn't want to do it now, that's their call.
Meanwhile, autoflagging is a thing we're doing without having had to go through them first - so count that as a win.

@ArtOfCode Sure, but they could tell us that if they didn't want to or didn't have the time yet
Not knowing what's happening is the problem here, not whats happening itself.

@Magisch they could, but they might also want to avoid a potential confrontation about it.
We know we're all nice people and wouldn't complain; they don't, necessarily.

still better then not knowing anything
I could live with them telling us no
@ArtOfCode Maybe we should tell them

@Pops Have you had whatever discussions you need to have about multiple automatic flags on a post (bearing in mind that "no" is a perfectly acceptable answer, as is "it's getting postponied")?

8:22 AM
@ArtOfCode he's not pingable in the room (meaning that the message won't land in his inbox AFAIK)

@AshishAhuja but I have superpowers :)

Mod superping, I suppose :)

Yep :)

in b4 mod abuse
@ArtOfCode Does the autoflagging system have a means of knowing if a flag was declined or not, btw?

8:24 AM
apart from human eyes on histories, no
the API doesn't have that implemented

Could make a nightly script that runs the flag histories of every autoflagger of that day and checks
via a web browser parser
akin to how the global flag summary US does it

@Magisch but then you'd have to deal with declines on non-autoflags, and declines on flags on the same post that weren't autoflags

@SmokeDetector k

@ArtOfCode Not necessarily. Check histories based on autoflag logs that day
The only edge case would be someone retracting their autoflag and issuing another, different flag, which then gets declined.

We could need a script that signs us up to all existing SE sites so that autoflags work everywhere and don't fail due to a missing account.

@ByteCommander somebody else's autoflag will work. If Smokey can't flag with account X for whatever reason, it will automatically use the next one.

8:41 AM
@ByteCommander or, like most of us, do that by hand once
:p

Yeah, metasmoke would just take the next one. But I'd like to use those that I get...
And I already have 112 accounts or so, but that means that still around 50 are missing.

go on a sign-up spree

I wouldn't even know which sites are missing...

@Glorfindel someone checks the global flag summary daily
:p

@Magisch yes. I have now a silver badge on every SE site, except Literature.
and I'm probably missing some child metas as well.

I mean the script wasn't made for that but still

@Glorfindel well come over and get some! :P

@Mithrandir sorry, too busy.
