@Jay "any thing sweat! "
That was the whole answer
@Jay maybe they keep them that way for mammograms, I don't know. I doubt that clothing shows, so maybe they are made through the bra.

Jay
@rumtscho O ok. People are stupid lol
@rumtscho I wouldn't know. I don't think I've ever gotten a mammogram

No, without a bra, but they are put on a tray.
@Jay and you don't need it anyway. In fact, women might not need it either, there was a recent Gladwell article about that

Jay
@rumtscho, oh yea. What do you think of this: So there is this guy who visits my profile like once a week for the past month or so. His profile says he is straight. AND in a relationship. WTF?

@Jay I wouldn't care too much about it. Especially if he doesn't live too close.

Aren't they like pressed?
Perhaps it's a view from the top.

9:13 PM
Um, would you people flag a semi-realistic drawing of how it is done?
They are pressed, yes
You have to scroll down a lot, or just C-f for "Mammogram"

yeah found it

pretty sure that first image isn't a drawing

Shows both a photography and a drawing, NSFW

just what I thought and tried to describe :)
@Shog9 Well, isn't that a happy surprise?

I'm telling you, I have the best timing

9:15 PM
oh, the notion about the election has disappeared again
@hobodave can you fix it again?

Sometimes when I join this room, I take one look and consider quitting out before my little icon shows up...
4

@Shog9 I thought of posting the drawing here, not the photography

@ElendilTheTall It's very understandable

@Mien fixt

@hobodave You are doing your moderator job very well!

9:23 PM
Guilty Musical Like of the Week: youtube.com/watch?v=Y1xs_xPb46M&ob=av2n

@Shog9 you ever heard of Bayesian probability? It requires no special timing to log in during an offtopic discussion if 90% of the discussion in the room is offtopic.

Skip to 1 minute in and want Photoshop CS6

@ElendilTheTall The name of the band rings a bell.

@ElendilTheTall lol here too eh?

@rfusca I thought @rumtscho might be mildly interested :)

9:25 PM
@derobert- I totally endorse your legume bag answer.

@rumtscho Yes, but - does 90% of the discussion in the room involve breasts?

@ElendilTheTall I can't view it, international copyright etc.

@Shog9 89%

@Shog9 no, but maybe 50% involves discussions which would have been flagged in other rooms

@rumtscho new photoshop, select something and you can just move it around the picture. Photoshop content fills behind whatever you moved

9:27 PM
@rumtscho Like religion and British food.

@rumtscho that's odd, i assume it's an American video and I can see it

Sorry @elendil.

@rfusca ah sorry, I can view the PS video after all. I can't view the music video.
@ElendilTheTall Germany has very strong artistic unions, that's why we don't have Spotify and Grooveshark had to close.

@Sobachatina sorry for what?

Nevermind.
The conversations are intertwining and getting confused so it's ok.

9:29 PM
@ElendilTheTall mind blown

@Sobachatina where's the vegetarian contest? i don't hang out here much anymore - michaelnatkin at gmail

@Sobachatina I'll just assume you're insulting British food, and by extension Britain, thus earning my undying enmity forever

i think i'm gonna find some flax seed oil
@MichaelatHerbivoracious vegetarian questions - for every one you ask here , you're entered in a weekly drawing for a free book

@MichaelatHerbivoracious this week any vegetarian questions.... yeah- what @rfusca said.

9:31 PM
@rfusca or books, up to $50
I'm getting 2 for winning chocolate week <dances>

@ElendilTheTall ya, wish I'd have realized that on my photo win :/

just ask a question using the tag

@ElendilTheTall No no! not at all! I was merely invoking an international stereotype for the sake of a cheap joke. I don't necessarily agree with the stereotype at all!

Jay
@ElendilTheTall Haha have you decided which ones?

@ElendilTheTall the photoshop looks good, but I notice they had carefully selected pictures with irregular and not too focused background

9:32 PM
I will say that some of the worst food I've ever had in my life was in a restaurant in London but I can hardly generalize one experience.

@hobodave or the tag

Jay
@ElendilTheTall "undying enmity forever" that's quite redundant

Still amazing that it works in these cases, but I would have liked to know where its limits are too

@rumtscho yes. but I think by CS7 it would be amazing

@Mien I don't believe in vegans
2
I wouldn't want one in a foxhole with me

9:33 PM
@Sobachatina riiiiiigggghhttt ;)

@rumtscho sure, but its still a zillion times better than before, even if you need to tweak it after

9:43 PM
gone awful quiet in here...

I'm watching a movie.

suppose I should go and process some more photos from the weekend's gig
what movie @mien?

Now I posted this chocolate question on photography, I want to make the peanut butter chocolate cake

@ElendilTheTall 3 idiots

peanut butter + chocolate = awesome

9:44 PM
Alone the words "This cake is INTENSE. Serve it in the thinnest slices possible, and keep a glass of milk handy." make my spatula itch

I want to have a vegetarian question :(

Yes, what do we do with vegetable questions which misuse the vegetarian tag during the contest?

@rumtscho also check out her recipe for buckeyes - I've made them and they are fantastic

1
Q: After you bake eggplant, is it fine to not drain the water?

Theta30An eggplant can be baked or grilled; then you peel it. I read that you have to drain it then (e.g. in a colander), even overnight. What if you don't drain the water-does the taste change considerably? Can you still make spread out of it?

@rumtscho I would delete the tag...
I know we were (me included) misusing the pastry tag in that week
but this is large misuse

9:48 PM
It seems like it should still count for the contest but I agree the vegetarian tag isn't good there.

Maybe we haven't made it clear in the tag wiki that it isn't about veggies?

so what makes something 'vegetarian' for the tag then

@rfusca Read the tag wiki :) For once that we have one
That's a lot of garlic :o

@Mien I have, it really isn't clear to me still

9:51 PM
I would add "Please don't use this tag for just any food which happens to not include meat. It is supposed to be used in cases where a vegetarian solution for a problem is not obvious, such as conversion of meat-containing recipes to vegetarian. "
Are you people OK with such an edit?
What I don't like about it is that it concentrates too much on substitutions

@rfusca The first use if for using substitutions. Say that you want to make panna cotta without gelatin.

But I'm not sure how to cover possible other cases, or what the other cases are at all.

@rumtscho ya, thats my problem with that

That's a fairly limited definiton

vegetarian is food with no meat

9:52 PM
considering the answer to any such question is 'use the vegetarian alternative'

@ElendilTheTall what definition would you like to see?
I mean, if we leave it for use with any food without meat, it would apply to 50% of the questions here

The second use - for me - are questions about 'vegetarian' things. Tofu, quorn....

I don't want to add the vegetarian tag to all questions that don't involve meat.

@Sobachatina exactly, that's why I would like to see it narrowed

a cake is vegetarian

9:54 PM
I'd say a vegetarian tag is appropriate where a question is dealing with a meal or item of food that is obviously vegetarian

Unless I can add an "omnivorous" tag to all questions everwhere.

But I don't know how to tweak my definition so it isn't overly narrow

@ElendilTheTall thanks :P

@ElendilTheTall yes, but the 'obviously vegetarian', how would you define that?

a question about cake would not be suitable, a question about mushroom risotto could be
it's up to the questioner surely?

9:55 PM
@ElendilTheTall so, I should tag a question about the structure of puff pastry balls with vegetarian?

but i'm not sure why the eggplant Q isn't personally

The contest description was changed to also include "vegetables" but I don't know if that isn't also too broad.

@ElendilTheTall by your definition, the cake question is suitable for the tag

@Sobachatina Ah I didn't see that

no it's not

9:55 PM
@rfusca In my opinion, again, it shouldn't have "vegetarian" but should still be valid for the contest.

What do you call "obviously vegetarian"?

@Sobachatina It has been changed to "vegetables"

Everything which doesn't have meat is obviously vegetarian

a meal not containing meat

But are questions about tomatoes allowed then? :o

9:56 PM
@ElendilTheTall a cake is a meal not containing meat

@Mien Yes but should the eggplant question be tagged vegetables in addition to eggplant?

a cake isn't a meal

@Sobachatina I would so why not?

@ElendilTheTall it is a part of a meal then

it's not like you have meat cakes and non-meat cakes

9:57 PM
meat pies?

but you do have meat risottos and vegetarian risottos for example

You certainly have cakes which are not suitable for vegetarians

@Sobachatina regardless of the contest, I'm not clear why its been changed since there's no clear definition

vegetarians don't eat gelatine or carmin red dye
and you can fill puff balls with meat, if you feel like it, but still I don't feel like tagging eclaire questions as vegetarian

9:59 PM
@rfusca regardless of the contest, if it isn't clear what a tag means, it is a good idea to try to write a clear definition for it

@Sobachatina someone actually wanted to do that once, I think they might have started to do it even

@rumtscho i'm not arguing against a better wiki - but for it

a bit of common sense is needed

@ElendilTheTall the problem with common sense is that isn't common

just because something is technically vegetarian, one would assume between the questioner and the community we can manage to tag something correctly

10:01 PM
I don't see a reason to tag a mushroom risotto with "vegetarian" if the problem with it doesn't revolve about keeping it vegetarian

@rumtscho good - then don't tag it as such

For the same reason I wouldn't tag a question about a cake with "eggs" even if the cake contains eggs
And this is why I created the edit proposal I posted above

Personally I think it's conceivable that a vegetarian (or someone cooking for one) might like to know what to do with eggplant water

In my eyes, it covers all the cases which need the "vegetarian" tag

in any case, I really don't care :)

10:04 PM
tags are for the benefit of our OCD and robotic users :)

@ElendilTheTall of course they want to, but they also might like to know how to bake a good cake.

so if I have a vegetarian stock and I want to know how long to cook it - is it tagged vegetarian. The actual question doesn't really revolve around the vegartian aspect,just how long to cook that stock

they tend to lose sight of the well known fact: "if you write it, no one will read it"

@hobodave actually, I don't pay much attention to them, until they are blatantly wrong

woo, Blades of Glory is on
I'm not saying I love this film, but if I'd had a son last month I would have called him Chazz Michael

10:05 PM
lol

OK, another wording: "Please don't use this tag for just any food which happens to not include meat. It is supposed to be used in cases where it is important to the question that the food is vegetarian (and should stay suitable for vegetarians after a solution has been found). "

@rumtscho like it
ice-devouring sex-tornado, lol :D
let me put my poems in you, roffles

10:20 PM
@rumtscho I think you can use the tag if you want to turn a shrimp risotto in a mushroom risotto.

@Mien sure you can, that would be a vegetarian substitution in my understanding (but I left the part about the substitutions out in my new edit)

ah I'll read it later
movie is almost finished :)

10:39 PM
And it was better than expected.

I'm starting to feel like all questions about canning and food safety shouldn't really be answered here.

I have that feeling for a longer time :)

Everytime there is another argument that ends with "Well I've never died from botulism" we are getting more and more dangerous.

everything about health should be discarded
Imho at least

@Mien that was terrible

11:13 PM
Yes I know.
She would not be a friend of mine irl.

I only watched 50 seconds of it so I feel somewhat better

Or online.

it was a fake

haha I paused every 20 seconds
Oh are you sure? :(

there is absolutely no evidence that it would really be her

11:14 PM
Yes I know

and there is evidence to the contrary, no accent for one

[00:03] Jasmien ma ist zeker da het nie fake is btw?
That's me in another chat

and she doesn't look 15 either

you can understand the word 'fake' and the question mark, right?

yes :P

11:14 PM
Kids these days.... I can never estimate their age
But you're right
She has not enough zits.

American 15 year olds can look pretty ahem, developed, but this girl looks like she could be 17+ or maybe even in her early 20's
hell if I saw her on the street and wasn't expecting her to be 15 I'd think she was 25
as long as she wasn't dressed like a retard
I WANT ONE!

Even if she isn't the real Hannah, I think she fits the father well
wannabe cowboy father + lesbian girl in myspace angle = drama²

I like the dildo on the bed
anyway, I'm off

@hobodave did you just dailymailroll us? I have to scrub my browser history now

You're doing it on purpose :(

11:23 PM
@Mien doing what?

talking starbait

@rumtscho I don't know anything about that site, i just get there from drudge
@Mien oh no I wasn't, didn't you see it on her bed?

@hobodave I saw the comments about it first :)

you lost IQ points for reading youtube comments

Most YT comments are not fun :(
A lot of them are spoiling.
But I can't supress that urge.

11:25 PM
anywya
gotta run, later

bye

@hobodave biggest, dirtiest, sensation-friendliest tabloid from the brithplace of tabloids. Probably the institution which invented the 84 points boldface.
My favorite conspiracy theory is that The lost honor of Katharina Blum doesn't mention the newspaper title not because of possible lawsuits, but because it fits the daily mail at least as well as Bild.

@rumtscho-
His username makes me sad. Even after I figured out what he was doing my brain still can't recognize it.

@Sobachatina Me too, I still read it as an acronym
Sounds like the name of a hospital department
Also, he is unpingable.
And probably thinks of himself as a very cunning l33ter.

Matt Ball?

11:38 PM
@mien he probably thinks that. To me, it is MDGG BD?? (actually my brain reads the Roman L's without stopping, but there is no equivalent Cyrillic letter, so my grandma for example wouldn't know what to make from them)

медицинский директор государственных грузов
Большой дурак?

lol
In Bulgarian, МБАЛ is an acronym for a type of large hospital
So this thing sounds to me like an extension of the acronym

@rumtscho I don't think he thinks that ;)

Yeah it does. Awesome!

Многопрофилна детско градинска голяма болница за активно лечение и летуване
@Sobachatina if this sounds strange to you, it is because it is rather surreal :)

11:45 PM
Many-profiled? child citizens ? hospital for active healing and ?

Many-profiled kindergarten big hospital for active healing and summercamping
the original acronym says "Multiprofiled hospital for active healing", which I find nonsensical too

голяма is big? That was unexpected.

Not all our words are from the same roots as in Russian

The summer camping almost makes sense.

градина is garden

11:47 PM
It is from similar roots- something walled in.

I wonder if the Slavic-bulgarian or the Roman root was there first, and if they are related

сад

I thought that сад is related to sowing
садя is the bulgarian verb for "planting"

Interesting- it is garden.
детский сад is kindergarten.

I'm off.

11:48 PM
Yes, I know this

I figured you would.

I also know болшой
don't know what summercamping is in Russian

Neither do I. I can't remember knowing that someone went on one.

so, an online dictionary says that "garden" in English is related to "guard", something enclosed, walled in.

Of course that's hardly conclusive- I've forgotten most of my Russian at this point.
@rumtscho That makes sense.
виноград makes me chuckle whenever I think about it.
Wine with walls.

11:52 PM
I understand "град" to be something constructed
градя is the bulgarian verb for "to construct"
град is city

That seems pretty common across slavic languages as a city suffix.

(or, for some probably unrelated reason, hail)

I still understood it as denoting walls.
You make me want to go study my Russian some more.
I want to find some audio books that I can listen to on the train.

Hmm, does lib.ru have audiobooks?
It has lots of books in plain text

I don't really have anyone around to talk to in Russian anymore. i used to have several Russian-speaking coworkers.
I haven't heard of that site. I'll check it out.

11:55 PM
actually, on the train, you can read from a smartphone or a tablet
It is very big. And if it doesn't have a book, aldebaran.ru probably has it. But aldebaran is also somewhat less pleasant to navigate.
