The first is that tech issues represent an actual problem you face. I wouldn't call ITG a problem.

Questions can be helpful to future user of the site, and can often be reproduced by others. So I can fix the bug myself, and then show you how to fix it.

I'm willing to grant that Tech issues share some of the same issues, but not all of them, and they also have additional things in their favour.

While I do like answering ITG questions, and think it's nice there's a place where people get relatively-fast answers to these types of question. I agree that in this type of site, ITG questions are out of place. They serve no purpose after being answered.

@Sterno it's like an "offline copy" of the SE databases. they dump to that periodically, but it's not at all live. you might be more interested in the API over on stackapps.com
