@AmithKK: You are welcome to add some features - he is completely open-source now.
(Well the knowledge engine that powers him is open source.)

@GeorgeEdison Where!!!!!
Cant WAAAIIIT

@AmithKK On Launchpad, where all open source projects belong :)

Pfft git it please

You can peek at the code here.
You can actually run a local copy of FlackBot if you download the code.

@GeorgeEdison You cannot upload to this branch. Only Nathan Osman can upload to this branch.
@GeorgeEdison Add me :D

2:03 AM
Are you interested in contributing?
Remember, FlackBot is written in Python.

Yeah
I know

Alright, I'll give you access. One moment.

So @GeorgeEdison If I get a way to use a Webkit based Window to SE Chat, I can Spread the source?

@AmithKK Actually, the repository contains a tool for testing FlackBot.
It's in the terminal folder.
It's a Qt app, so you'll need to sudo apt-get install libqt4-dev in order to compile it.

And how do I run them?

2:06 AM
Do you have the code checked out yet?

Yes

You are now a member of FlackBot Dev.

\o/

@AmithKK Okay, then cd into the terminal directory.

done
Qt is Installing

2:08 AM
Once that is done, run qmake and then make.
(In the terminal directory.)

amith@amith-desktop:~/flackbot/terminal$ make
/usr/bin/uic-qt4 CMainWindow.ui -o ui_CMainWindow.h
g++ -c -pipe -O2 -Wall -W -D_REENTRANT -DQT_WEBKIT -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DQT_GUI_LIB -DQT_NETWORK_LIB -DQT_CORE_LIB -DQT_SHARED -I/usr/share/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++ -I. -I/usr/include/qt4/QtCore -I/usr/include/qt4/QtNetwork -I/usr/include/qt4/QtGui -I/usr/include/qt4 -I. -I. -o main.o main.cpp
g++ -c -pipe -O2 -Wall -W -D_REENTRANT -DQT_WEBKIT -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DQT_GUI_LIB -DQT_NETWORK_LIB -DQT_CORE_LIB -DQT_SHARED -I/usr/share/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++ -I. -I/usr/include/qt4/QtCore -I/usr/include/qt4/QtNetwor

Oh, sorry. One more package is needed.
libqjson-dev
...install that and then run make again.

done

Okay, then cd .. to go to the parent directory.
Then:
sudo apt-get install python-twisted-core python-tz wordnet
(These packages are used by the FlackBot server.)

python ./flackbot.py ?

2:12 AM
@AmithKK Yes, after you install those packages.

@GeorgeEdison I didnt have to install

Okay, then simply start the server.
You should see a message indicating that plugins are being loaded.
Then open another terminal window and cd into the terminal window where you just compiled the Qt app.

and run ./terminal/terminal right?

Yes.
If everything worked, you should be able to talk into the terminal window and FlackBot will respond.
Is it working?

Yep

2:14 AM
\o/
So now you can begin adding features and testing them :)

what are those .pyc files?

Python creates those when you run the program.
They're just the compiled versions of the .py files.

No API?

API for... what?

Flackbot Message Sends
like
send("Hey")

2:20 AM
Oh, the code where he sends a message?

Yeah
Nice Job :D

Currently, he only sends messages in reply to a message to him. And the code for that is in flackbot.py.
Line 57.
It's basically sending JSON-encoded data over the socket.

Ah
You should include a skeleton
@GeorgeEdison Ingenious!!!

What is?

How You did the packaging plugin!

2:25 AM
Thank you.

@FlackBot Which package contains the file pong2?
