Tom Cruise + remake of a remake of a remake is enough to make me hate it

Why? It seems to have all kinds of cool people in it.

Tom Cruise + remake of a remake of a remake is enough to make me hate it
And none of the cast or crew making me excited and trailer is bleh
And I have no trust in universal to handle the franchise after that lame The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

A J
Since now I have eternal hatred for Tom, I'll skip it.

Without Rachel Weisz nothing can be same. I watched The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor in theater without realizing absence of Rachel Weisz. Film was ultra-lame
On the sidenote I loved the animated series:
The Mummy: The Animated Series is an animated series produced by Universal Cartoon Studios to capitalize on the success of The Mummy. It premiered on Kids' WB! On The WB network on September 29, 2001. It is set sometime between 1920 and 1934. It was retooled and rechristened The Mummy: Secrets of the Medjai for its second season, which began on February 15, 2003. The show was cancelled on June 7, 2003. Reruns of the show aired on Toon Disney. == Storyline == Based loosely on hit movies The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, the O'Connells find themselves being chased around the world by the und...

So now I don't like him anymore.
@AnkitSharma I used to watch lots of Animated, Nat Geo, and Discovery shows in childhood.

3:21 PM
Drgh, all those Tom Cruise haters. That guy is the epitome of charisma and screen presence in about every friggin' film he's in.

Because he do same old sci-fi stuff again and again with lame acting

Q: Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?

Eddin NomarIn Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), why did Kattappa kill Baahubali? I saw the movie 2 times, but I'm still confused. Is there any indication in the film why Kattappa did this?

Anyway, I have one question regarding Baahubali
2
Q: How come Kalkeya Chief knew about what Bijjaladeva said a day before war

A JIn Baahubali:The Beginning, During war, Kalakeya chief asks Sivagami, "You will declare King whoever kills me among both princes". This quote was said by Bijjaladeva a day before the war. My question is, how Kalakeya Chief knew about this? His spy Saket was arrested already.

3:42 PM
My answer is same :
word travels fast when the news is that big. — Tej Nov 18 '15 at 11:13

A J
ok
Anyway, we can have one ToW covering all bollywood film industry when Bahubali 2 releases.

Oh, Justice League is in 2017, too?

@AJ wait suggesting in few minutes

Definitely Dunkirk! It's been 3 (three!) years without a Nolan film.

Justice League is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics superhero team of the same name, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is intended to be the fifth installment in the DC Extended Universe. The film is directed by Zack Snyder, with a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, and Ciarán Hinds. In Justice League, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman assemble a team consisting of The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg to face the catastrophic threat of Steppenwolf and his army...

Oh right, I always wanted to answer that Perfume question.
@AJ At least it's historical and not science-fiction, so she might like it.

A J
Taylor done. Now MJ.

WE can make nolan week for Dunkrik. I think we had it before but Nolan is a different case
I am confused for Dunkrik, I want to watch every Nolan film but it's theme is not my cup of tea

@steelersquirrel Speaking Tom Cruise, they have Edge of Tomorrow and War of the Worlds on TV tonight. Maybe I'll just watch that instead of football. ;-P

A J
3:50 PM
I recently watched Suicide Squad, so I can now watch the next movie of DCEU.

SQBThis week marks the fifteenth anniversary of Miyazaki's masterpiece, Spirited Away. Theatres across the USA are screening it on the 4th, 5th, and 8th of December. Let's honour it, and by extension Studio Ghibli and director Hayao Miyazaki, with a topic challenge.

A J
@steelersquirrel It's a movie character.
Awara Paagal Deewana (Hindi: आवारा पागल दीवाना, English: Wayward, Crazy, Insane) is a 2002 Bollywood action comedy film directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film's music was composed by Anu Malik, and the lyrics by Sameer. It is a remake of The Whole Nine Yards. Awara Paagal Deewana was one of the highest grosser hindi films of the year 2002. It was notable for lavish and exotic song picturisations, stunts/action scenes by Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal's popular comical chemistry with Johnny Lever, who played a funny character called Chhota Chhatri. == Plot == The story centres on the legacy of a dead...

4:42 PM
Ahhhh...gotcha!

@AnkitSharma Great idea! \o/
@steelersquirrel ;-(

Wow @SQB really likes this Spirited Away thing! +1 buddy. For sheer passion :)
@NapoleonWilson Awww. You're scowling at me...and I just gave you a kiss and everything! ;)

@steelersquirrel Hmm, sorry then. ;-*

Hello friends @steelersquirrel I apologize for leaving last night

@NapoleonWilson only seen it once in theatre

4:56 PM
Oh.

I did tried spirited away but lost interest soon
Can't complete

@MannlyMann Awww. Don't apologize! I'm just glad that you're still alive ;)

@steelersquirrel I am alive and well

@AJ lol, I love that film

Apparently it was just a really bad crash and it was news helicopter not police

5:01 PM
They duplicated matrix fight scene too
Maybe I can watch Spirited Away again during ToW

@MannlyMann Oh, cool! Yay!

@steelersquirrel yep I'm safe and sound and studying for a lifeguarding exam

I think the only Miyazaki thing I ever saw was Princess Mononoke. But I'm not a huge anime person to begin with.

A J
@AnkitSharma good comedy/action movie

@MannlyMann Cool! Good Luck! If you pass, can we all call you Hasselhoff? ;)

tee kayDuring the credits there is a shadow of a violinist on the sidewalk and up the steps of a brownstone in a large city.

7:19 PM
Why is this happening? Effing Baltimore! Effing New England! ;-(
@AnkitSharma Because Mannly is study for his lifeguard test...and David Hasselhoff was once a lifeguard on Baywatch ;)

@steelersquirrel :'(

@NapoleonWilson I know, right? Ravens are blowing out the dolphins and Patriots are blowing out the Rams. This is not how my day of football was supposed to start ;-(

@steelersquirrel Awww, just keep in mind how it will end! ;-)

@NapoleonWilson Awww. Of course :)
Kim is all riled up about the Long Kiss Goodnight thing. I told you that she would be. Hehe!
I wish that I could post that clip...it's just not available :'(

7:37 PM
Awww, the pics are alright. I might take a look if I can find better pics, but the ones you provided are already good.

Well, I wanted to provide pics from the actual scene itself. I guess that there could probably be a better one of that Craig Berko guy. I don't know.

Yeah, I mean the actual scene.
The scene is definitely better than some random model portfolio pic of the actor. Since it's the scene we're talking about.

Oh, you're talking about the clip of that scene...okay. I understand now!

Q: Revenge for sons death

Susith DhananjayaI'm looking for a movie that I watched long time ago. It's story is like in future, father take a loan and it's like they gave the money and place a tracker, for find him in the case of not pay back. He get the loan for cure his son from a cancer or something else. His son is in the hospital and ...

8:01 PM
Nice that they gave Rosario Dawson a bigger role in Luke Cage, she's like the best second best nurse ever.

@MovieReel Huh? Maybe I am just too tired, but, I don't understand anything that is being said in this question.
@NapoleonWilson Awwww ;-*

@steelersquirrel Awww, I know you like Kate Beckinsale in Pearl Harbor, too. ;-*
;-P

Muahahaha!

Hehe!
That's one of her worst characters, imo. Grrrr... ;)

8:19 PM
Yeah, I know.
It's not that much of a great film to begin with.

Agreed...and they will be playing it all week over here ;-(

Why? You mean during Pearl Harbor time?

Especially since it's the 75th anniversary.

There's sure better films to celebrate that.
That's like playing Inglourious Basterds on D-Day. ;-)

Q: Live action show that use to be on fox kids

MasterchiefrmaI'm trying to remember a live action TV show that took place in the dark or middle ages and it had several key characters who had the power to transform their armor based on the elements. (Example is one character uses the power of fire and gets a fire sort metal armor and sword).

8:23 PM
@NapoleonWilson Yeah. AMC and/or TBS play it non stop without commercials. They do the same thing with Saving Private Ryan on D-Day.

Well, Private James Ryan is not that bad a fit. But Pearl Harbor? That's nothing about Pearl Harbor, it's about two dudes fighting for Kate Beckinsale's heart (or whatever body part).

...and her being a slut ;)

Well, she thought Affleck was dead.
Oh, apparently our people cut across to the Chiefs/Falcons game. I guess that's a little more exciting. :'(

@NapoleonWilson Yeah...for like 5 seconds ;)
The Chiefs/Falcons game is more exciting :P

WUT? There's a new XXX, with Vin effin' Diesel again!

8:41 PM
Uhuh

@steelersquirrel You no likes 'em?

@NapoleonWilson Not really :(

@steelersquirrel And apparently they made a punt fake today in that game.
@steelersquirrel Oh. Just those movies or Diesel in general?
I think they're cool, especially the first one with Diesel. The second had a little bit of a by-taste of a cheap tacked-on sequel, especially since I wasn't the biggest fan of switching him out for Ice Cube. But it was still quite nice.

Dec 22 '15 at 12:36, by steelerfan
@NapoleonWilson I do, just not those kind of fast cars. I can't handle Vin Diesel in those movies, either. I don't want to speak ill of the deceased, because I liked Paul Walker and I was heartbroken when he died, but he's really not the greatest actor in the world either.

Well, it's not a Fast & Furious film, though.

8:46 PM
I don't think that I have ever watched one of thosw XXX things...I just don't really like him because of Fast and furious

So what you have against Vinnie D? I think he's usually boss and charismatic in his films.
@steelersquirrel Oh, I would really recommend the first one, though. But granted, if you don't like Vin Diesel in general, you might not like it too much. They're quite his movies and he plays a classic Vin Diesel character.

Er, I don't know. I can't handle the way that he talks.

Q: scene from a movie or tv show where pink tentacles wraps around face

Anonymoushttps://i.stack.imgur.com/tvt2Q.jpg I need help in finding out what this scene is from. I really don't remember much of it other than what seemed to be a tentacle used as a gag and another one wrapping around the person's head. It looks like it might be from the late 90s or the 2000s.

OMFG! KC just scored again!

WUT? Intercepted two-point conversion right to the end zone!
Make a 28:27, hope to make it a 30:27 and get a 28:29 instead. Buahahaha!
@steelersquirrel But his original voice is boss.

8:50 PM
@NapoleonWilson Hoping for KC!!
@NapoleonWilson Uhm...okay.

@steelersquirrel Why? F those good AFC teams, they're taking up precious wildcard slots, especially in AFC West!
@steelersquirrel I just think he sounds awesome.

@NapoleonWilson I guess that I liked him in Knockaround Guys.

Oh, I've only scarcely seen 'at.

@NapoleonWilson Dude! You gotta hope for teams that will keep New England out of the superbowl and the AFC West teams look like they're going to be the only ones who can!

@steelersquirrel But they block wildcard places that the Steelers might need? Who do you want to throw New England out of the superbowl, the killer bees or some come along KFC people?

8:56 PM
A KC win won't effect the Steelers at this point and I don't want to play Denver in the playoffs. Pittsburgh can't seem to win play off games at mile high.

Okay then.
I trust you expertise.
So the Ravens game is 38:6, eh? :'(

Q: Teacher/principal -student relationship

Genasis HernandezI watched a movie or TV show possibly. All I remember was that a mom was talking to the teacher or principal and he was checking out the student and one day he called her in the office and he started to feel on her. Then another teacher or student came in and interrupted them. From then on they h...

The wildcard spot is all going to come down to who wins the Steelers/Ravens game on Christmas. Baltimore is ahead of Pittsburgh right now...whoever wins that game will get that spot...that's what it's going to come down to. It doesn't matter that KC wins. They have to compete with Oakland and Denver

Well, that conversion attempt was a killer.
@steelersquirrel Huh? I'd think whoever wins that game will win AFC North anyway, not the wildcard spot.
@steelersquirrel Call that an exciting christmas!
I hope I can watch that (if they even air it). That should be 25th, right?
Oh, most of the games are actually on 24th. Why? Isn't that saturday?
Though, the Steelers/Raven actually play on 25th. But they're the only ones, which might in turn mean that they might not air it when they air the saturday games instead.

9:19 PM
@NapoleonWilson Not necessarily. Depends on how the games go in between. We really needed Miami to win today, because they beat Pittsburgh and now Baltimore beat Miami...which sucks. But, I would rather play KC or Oakland at home than Denver. That's why I hope for KC...also, because they and Oakland are the only ones that can give New England a run as it stands right now.
@NapoleonWilson Nope. Broncos/Chiefs are playing, too. Two awesome divisional games!!! Ravens/Steelers is gonna be a frigging blood bath. It always is that late in the season.

@steelersquirrel What do you mean it depends? The Bengals don't seem like a serious competition anymore.

@NapoleonWilson If the Steelers or the Ravens suck it up before that game, that game won't matter. They won't have to "play" to see who clinches the division. If Pittsburgh loses their next 3 games, it's not going to matter. Baltimore will automatically clinch the division.
If a team is that far ahead of the other teams in the division, that's what happens. It usually never plays out that way, though. It is also decided on what other teams win or lose. But, it's still too early in the second to even know.

@steelersquirrel But you said whoever wins that game will win the wildcard spot. But if any of the two would be in a position to win a wildcard spot with a win in that game, shouldn't they actually be in a position to win the division that way?

9:37 PM
@NapoleonWilson That's just what I'm assuming...due to past seasons in playing Baltimore. I was just giving you the picture and how it stands as of now...doesn't mean that it will happen. It's more than likely that will happen for whomever wins that game, but, it's too early to tell. Why do you think people bet on this shit? It's any given Sunday. Anything can happen.

I know it's not certain. But I just don't get how that would work if it came that way.
The only way that they both fight for the wildcard spot in that game but not for the division would be if the Bengals were ahead of both, which is unlikely to happen.
> The wildcard spot is all going to come down to who wins the Steelers/Ravens game on Christmas.

@NapoleonWilson Nobody knows, because we don't know what either teams record will be when that game happens...that's what I'm saying. There's a million different scenarios that you can talk about right now.

Yeah, but I still don't get the meaning of that statement I quoted.

@NapoleonWilson Uhuh. That's what I said that I was assuming!

But I don't see why you can even assume that. It seems impossible to me. I don't get how you come to this conclusion.
2 mins ago, by Napoleon Wilson
The only way that they both fight for the wildcard spot in that game but not for the division would be if the Bengals were ahead of both, which is unlikely to happen.
I guess I'm just confused then.

9:45 PM
@NapoleonWilson The quote is based on past December games with Pittsburgh and Baltimore...that's why most people think that will be the case. It doesn't matter about Cincinnati!!!! It depends on what other AFC teams win/lose and what the Steelers/Ravens record will be once they get to that game. If they both stay close to each other's records, then, yes...that game will decide a wold card playoff spot...not necessarily the division. If Baltimore wins that game as their record stands now, they
Would clinch the division.
And the wildcard playoff spot.

@steelersquirrel Ooooooouuuh! So you mean that game decides about a wildcard spot in general. Not that those two teams actually directly fight for a wildcard spot in that game!

It's hard to understand this early in the season, because there are tons of scenarios.
@NapoleonWilson YES!!!!!

@steelersquirrel I know it's not certain, I know. I was just concerned about the meaning of that statement.

I'm sorry, babe. I'm not very good at explaining things like this in chat :(

Don't worry.

Rokay :)
As long as you understand :)

Q: What is the name of this Christmas movie?

Yeah! Holding or intentional grounding in the end zone is an automatic safety.

9:54 PM
And 4th down, too!

Time to punt! Muahahaha!
Tom Brady also got the record for most wins by an NFL Quarterback after New England's win today ;-(

Whoa, there was half a football field without anyone around that guy.

Makes up for the ball he just frigging dropped.

Wut? Bell is allowed to pass forward? Is that because Roethlissberger didn't pass the ball to him but just hand it over?

You get paid millions of dollars to catch that ball!!! CATCH IT!!! :P

10:00 PM
> You can touch it, you can catch it!
Awww, only a field goal.

@NapoleonWilson Yep. You can't have 2 forward passes in the same play

But everyone else is allowed to make a forward pass?
Why doesn't that happen more often? Seems like a nice option to have the running back pass the ball away.

Yes. Like, you can do a lateral pass to a RB and they can throw a forward pass to a receiver
@NapoleonWilson Because most RB's aren't that versatile. Bell was both a QB and a receiver in High School and college, so, he can run, throw and catch. Very rare in a RB.

Also, it's fairly easy for a defense to pick up on because of how you need to be lined up before the play, so, you have to be quick and try to throw them off with other tricks

10:05 PM
I see.
Football with Miss steelersquirrel is informative!

Awwww. Hehehe! I have just been watching it my entire life coupled with being raised by my father. Hehehe!

@steelersquirrel I know.
Tomlin seems to be a cool guy, though.

@NapoleonWilson Yeah, he's cool. I just don't agree with some of his decisions, sometimes, but, he usually keeps his cool.
A Steelers tribute at half time.

@steelersquirrel That catch on the 2nd down? Yeah, was nice, sure.

Well, it's just not the same now!! ;)

11:38 PM
@steelersquirrel Awww, why?

@NapoleonWilson Yeah. Did you see how he just kept his foot in bounds? Awesome!!

@steelersquirrel Oh, indeed.

@NapoleonWilson I'm kidding with you, silly bean!!

He was down by contact. No interception. Relax.

11:46 PM
Um, no?

Argh! Nevermind :(
I didn't see the other angle. My fault.

They could have challenged that, though. He was quite down when he had it.
Any Miyazaki/Ghibli experts around here?
@Catija You by any chance?

Yeah, that's why I said that, but, then, I saw another angle. It was an interception

Or @SQB?

I love his stuff but I'm not sure I count as an expert.

A: Weekly Topic Challenge - Ideas

SQBThis week marks the fifteenth anniversary of Miyazaki's masterpiece, Spirited Away. Theatres across the USA are screening it on the 4th, 5th, and 8th of December. Let's honour it, and by extension Studio Ghibli and director Hayao Miyazaki, with a topic challenge.

So Ghibli or Miyazaki? What makes more sense?
Or is the distinction irrelevant?

It is. I believe Ghibli does non-Miyazaki works.

SQB was very excited about that movie this morning, that's all I know ;)

@Catija So would a director challenge be more appropriate than a studio challenge? Or is the Ghibli stuff generally lauded into the high heavens even without Miyazaki directing it?

I'm not sure how much of the non-Miyazaki stuff gets much visibility. I'd personally go with Ghibli to make it slightly broader.

Yeah, I guess. Half of them seem to have been done by his partner Takahata anyway and the sudio structure seems rather close.
Inception!

11:55 PM
My Neighbors the Yamadas is an example of one of the better-known, non-Miyazaki ones.

So the flag was after the interception and it still counts, right?

Yep. Interception still counts! He shouldn't have intercepted, but batted it down for an incomplete pass, but, he had a good run back, so...whatever.

Just means we won't start Kirk Douglas exactly on 9th, but the next monday after it.
@steelersquirrel Why?
Isn't an interception always better?

@NapoleonWilson Because it was 4th down and Steelers would have had the ball at the 35 instead of where the ball was intercepted.

@steelersquirrel Oh, I see. Drgh!
Sorry, I have to do some work meanwhile. But I'm still following it, really!

11:59 PM
@NapoleonWilson Steelers would have got the ball back anyways
